So with the master quest dic everyone gets a palette swap costume somewhere on the adventure mode map.

Ruto's is based off Lulu [1]

I have to wonder why there wasn't any voice acting in hyrule warriors. probably due to not having any generally in zelda to begin with.

Also, its kinda silly how Shiek's true identity was still treated. Does anyone not know anymore? :P

Just because It Was His Sled for all of us, doesn't mean that the characters in-universe should know it. tongue

-shrugs on Zelda voice acting- I guess it's because they don't want to break what they've done since Ocarina, Voice Grunting.

There could have been some stronger lampshades on the narrator's part though tongue

I could probably also understand from the point of view that if Hyrule Warriors was the first to voice act well, damn near everyone in zelda, it could easily solidify that particular actor's voice for those characters in the eyes of the fans and cause the usual problems if they didn't keep it.

Imagine the backdraft there would be if Zelda had a voice and then the next Zelda game didn't have any voices again.

Even if there were voices, they'd mostly likely be Japanese, as per usual with the Warriors franchise (which would mean that they'd be voiced by the voice actors doing the Voice Grunting). As far as I know, only a few titles in the Dynasty Warriors series used English voices, which generally had mixed reactions.

As for official voicing in the main series, I'm inclined to believe that the Grandfather Clause is in effect. Plus they may be wary of introducing an element that will, quite frankly, break the base even more, but who knows.

Ruto's new costume looks cute, but I can't help but feel that something's off about it...

What surprised me was the English narration. That wasn't in any other Zelda game. (And it's Sheik. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeik)

So Hyrule Warriors in it's own little seperate timeline. The army knows about the other adventures of Link as some sort of legends right? So how did they not know that the blond knight called LINK was the hero? Seriously.

I wonder if history remembers the hero's name, or if they're all canonically named Link (since you can enter names in most of them.)

I before E except in Sheeeeeeeeeik.

[up]Pretty much how I feel. Link is his canon name, but as far as I know, no game in the series uses his name as a reference point. He's always "The Hero of [X]", sometimes with something denoting that he wears green, but he's never known by his name.

That said, I have not been watching any story-related videos of HW, so I don't know if the Links in the other timelines/dimensions are mentioned by that name by the characters themselves. I assumed that they simply referred to him as "the Hero (of Courage)" or something similar.

Being the famous name of a famous hero, one would assume that Link is a fairly common male name in Hyrule.

Excellent point! It'd be like if the Second Coming of Christ were in Central America. "His name was Jesus and you didn't expect this?" Well, no.

That and the fact he's blond, doesn't talk much, and incredibly skilled with a sword despite just being a trainee.

Whoever was recording the legends probably should have did a better job.

And he wasn't wearing a helmet when all the other trainees were.

But then Helmets Are Hardly Heroic, and Link is typically a rebel.

I kind of wish Hyrule Warriors was part of the timeline. I really liked the characters, and callbacks would be nice. Eiji Aonuma says that it won't fit in the timeline, due to links to other timelines. I'm not for sure if it could work, but I feel like it could.

At least make Link's blue scarf canon. tongue

Links to other timelines? This whole thing is clearly taking place in the Child Timeline, as evidenced by the Twilight Realm being treated as a past event and the whole Hero of Time era being called "Legendary". Plus we're getting Majora's Mask stuff, another Child Timeline game. Hmmmmm...

Eh, I'm taking Aonuma's word for it and being fine with it being a non-canon spinoff.

Timey Whimey stuff. Cia is messing with the timeline, this could still be canon presumably if the timeline gets reset back to the way its supposed to be.

I hope the game does well enough that we get a sequel with characters from the handheld games and Wind Waker.

Also Groose and Twinrova.

[up]Yes please![1]

I want Toon Link and Toon Zelda as well!

It needs Majora's Mask stages too, imagine a mission where you have to win in like 5 minutes, as the moon slowly approaches! evil grin

Yeah, I remember the creators saying something to the effect of "If you have a favorite Zelda character, you'll probably be able to play as them." I'm a bit miffed that that isn't necessarily the case.

Maybe in a sequel. First spin-off Musou games always have fewer characters. A sequel would hopefully have 30-40 characters, in which case most fan favorites would hopefully get in.

Or maybe we'll get a different Nintendo Warriors. Fire Emblem is obvious, but it's so obvious I'm not too interested. Pokemon has been suggested and declined, which I find very sad. Now Kirby Musou, that would be amazing even if I have no idea how that would work. Or maybe Kid Icarus Musou. Uprising has a perfect cast and world for it.

Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.

I was just thinking about what Groose's moveset could be like...I guess his basic Y combo would just be regular punches and stuff, but some of his X moves could have him summoning the Groosenator to fire giant bombs and/or himself at enemies. I was thinking his special attack could have him ride his Loftwing up into the air then dive down onto enemies. Maybe his Focus Spirit Finisher could have him activating a Timeshift Stone to kill enemies surrounding him...

Perhaps he could utilize some other miscellaneous elements from Skyward Sword like the Beetle and the Scattershot as well.
