Splatoon

Been doing amazing in X Rank Zones recently. Like, Top 2500 good. I'm pumped. Now I just gotta bump up my numbers in the other modes.

I finished my post for the SpringFest already. Took like a hour to draw. It's very convenient the mailbox has a "Splatfest Post" option!

I'm approaching the end of the art "phase" with mine (it doesn't take as long as it used to because I use a tablet now)

Once the art is finished I'll mix it down to two colors, then plug it into the game. It's a whole process, but if you get a nice-looking picture out of it, it's worth it

Just finished Side Order and was granted access to Inkopolis Square. I used the shotgun pallette (aka Brella pallette). From the vending machine visits I had during the miracle run, I ended up choosing the same sub and special combination the Tenta Sorella Brella has (a Brella weapon with Ink Mine and Trizooka) and carried that sub/special combination to the top of the tower.

…I don’t get it, how are you guys able to draw on Switch really well? It doesn’t use a stylus, does it?

You can use a stylus if you're willing to buy one. You'd need a capacitive touch stylus, mind you. You can also use external software like Splatplost in order to import your art into the game, but I've never done it myself.

Patch notes for the Underpole Spillw- I mean, 7.2.0 update dropped.

Most notable change is Kraken cheese being gone, since Super Jumps targeting a Kraken Royale will go to where the special was activated instead.
Snipewriter also got its points for special increased slightly, which is... fair, but jury's out if it helps much.

...that doesn't require me to mod my Switch or buy expensive hardware, does it? Because I don't wanna get in trouble with Nintendo or shell out a hundred bucks just to draw one picture.

It does require additional hardware, which is I why I use the pixel-by-pixel approach instead

I also hope you guys don’t mind if I draw any pictures based on past Splatfests.

I got taunted on another site for drawing a Splatfest team support pic from 2016 last year.

Well those taunters are losers.

The stuff I would wish on people who run respawn punisher would get me banned on nearly every website so I'll just leave it at that.

It certainly was a choice to add an ability that makes both the user and their targets spend more of the game waiting. Not a good choice, but a choice.

It just has no counter since it's ALWAYS run by exceedingly long weapons so you just can't even get close to them before being noticed.

Respawn Punisher is a double-edged sword. If you're a good player, you can really make your enemies suffer with it. If not, or if you get tilted, you will be the one escaping suffering

The skill was introduced in 2 as a way to hard-punish Quick Respawn in the wake of how strong it was in the first game, on top of Quick Respawn itself getting a rework to only apply if you get splatted without scoring a splat yourself.

The two in tandem are a bit overkill, and yeah Respawn Punisher ends up on every Charger to be a "no fun allowed" ability; meanwhile, QR is more niche and doesn't really need the hard counter with the role it's currently used for. I don't think anyone would complain if next game omitted or reworked Punisher.

Oh, and good news about Undertow: there's no pole! Time will tell, but so far the update genuinely seems good; main changes are that the elevation's altered so players in the trenches can more evenly fight the mid (which also had the center bumper removed), and the right side leaving spawn has a little tunnel into the trench that widens the amount of space you have for fighting there.

Yeah, so far I'm liking the changes made; they mainly widened the approach through the middle so it's not as much of a chokepoint. It still narrows a lot, but at least now you have options for your approach.

Can't wait to record Off the Hook's concert.

Whew! Well, I finished my shitpost art post at the eleventh hour. Would have been sooner, but well... Here it is on Twitter, in any case

So fittingly for a Last of Us 2 meme post, getting this one finished was very difficult, riddled with tragedy and setbacks, and had me questioning whether it was worth it in the end. The painting phase went fine, but when I was putting this into the game, something outside my control happened that reset the hub, and I lost a huge chunk of progress because art posts don't autosave

Twice

First to my Switch's battery dying, then to the internet connection dropping while I was working on it. Something which I have never seen happen before outside of battle, and which I maintain fate threw my way just to fuck me over. Deleted literally half the image when I was almost finished. Luckily, I'm not a quitter

Lovely pics

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Undertow Spillway might actually be my favorite level now after the redesign.

So instead of drawing on Switch, I'll just make B&W drawings on Procreate using the same resolution. The only thing is, none of my brushes are pixel-perfect so there's this annoying blurry thingy on the edges.

I was seriously considering doing Li'l Bunnies... but I realize I would be dealing with Mirror Match Hell because it's overwhelmingly popular. So I chose Bear Cubs because A) I haven't supported Big Man since Team Love and B) I want to relax and not worry about Frye losing because I can't power through Mirror Matches.
