...you might have the problem at your end there.
Nous restons ici.No, it was down for several hours last night. My fellow ff.net writers were complaining about it on facebook, and they're scattered all over North America, Europe, and Malaysia.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswYes, FFN went down late yesterday night in America, so I delayed some reading. Also, http://isup.me verified that it was down.
Can we please go back to "review censorship", FFN?
Sure, keep the "delete guest reviews", or remove it, but let me turn off Guest Reviews entirely. Its irritating when you want to see a review and you see a wall of "Guest" and other cheap names, with responses like, "yeah, this was cool, next chap" and "well i like this story so ill review every chapter so you have 3000 reviews even!" followed by repeated posts of "this chapters great" and "this is youe 2778th reviews! cheers!"
Ugh. Who thought letting everyone guest-review was a good idea?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).One particular pet peeve of mine is when someone reviews every chapter of a completed story in one day when they can easily just sum it all up when they're finished the whole thing. That and the only reviews I get for my oneshots are 'plz write a sequel!!1'
It's frustrating.
I've done that before when I've found a bunch of stories I absolutely adored 5-7 chapters long, but with only 25-30 reviews. Technically they were parts of the same series, but the author wrote them in a way to have small timeskips between each.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobGenerally, when I'm reading a multi-chapter fic, I try to post a review each chapter if I have something to say - especially if I'm marking corrections. Not only does it raise the review count** but also because depending on how long ago it was written, the author might even get confused about which chapter something happened in.disclaimer
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswI hate how FF makes it so that I have to add an "x" to the beginning of my story so that the chapter title gets pushed over to the left otherwise.
Though I'll admit that it at least has a better way of organizing chapters than say Serebii.
This thread's been left in the first for nearly a decade, so here's me randomly mentioning ~War Jay 77 or ~Rac Attack Force, or whoever I'd like to mention.
So... my app has a problem. Document Manager won't let me save changes on my phone. Or any phone I'm aware of, for that matter. I had to use computer just to save the changes, though I can still send the unfinished chapter to update the story. I'm going on explain, but beware of unmarked spoilers!
I was retreading the Dark Knights Rising tie-in for Dark Nights: Metal, in which the backstory of each of the recruited six Dark Knights were invaded by rifts and an extra-dimensional boat. I was at the word 524, on the point the Drownednote found out that it isn't the Batman Who Laughs who destroyed the Signal. Then "Request Failed", and the phone continued to be stuck mostly at it's local save beyond that. I eventually had to resort to using computers to continue working, so the development slowed to a crawl. I'm even forced to post the unfinished version of the chapter (Part 78: Omniversa-Aeterna (part 2-2)) and update it as I develop.
Beyond the In-Universe discussion of the cosmology, I'm frustrated at the problem, as it only affected the mobile phones which meant I had to lug a laptop and internet connection if I'm to work on the fic on the go. (And no, I don't have any ARM-based laptop, even thought I'd like to) Because I've lost the remaining option to edit the docs beyond computers (and properly save on the web), the development just slows right down as the writing gets delayed.
Unmarked spoilers aside, I hope FFN fixes the problem soon.

Absolute RainbowAbout ~War Jay 77... WJ77, do you use FFN?
Absolute Rainbow
My biggest complaint with it is how often it will go down for hours at a time. Like right now when I want to post a new fic!
