I was unaware of any Bollywood limitation in that trope.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yeah, while that trope may have originated there (I don't know), there's no reason to limit to that.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSeems like a weird name if the trope is that broad.
^ First hit on archive.org for the page is in December of 2008, back when there wasn't as much concern about good names instead of "witty" or "clever" ones (regardless of usefulness), but it didn't save the related YKTTW so I've no idea of the discussion leading up to deciding that name, beyond that the initial title for the trope proposal was "Person in the water"... which is even more useless as a title.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpIt could use a rename methinks. The trope is really widely used in many contexts and a better title could help it to get even more wicks and external link than it already has.
Seems to me the missing supertrope would be Wet Clothing Fanservice. That would cover Wet Sari Scene, women-in-wet-t-shirts stuff, male characters in wet clothes, ...
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.^ Wet Sari Scene mentions the t-shirt thing as a subtrope, albeit in the context of a contest.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpI'm not getting the logic behind that because it sounds like it should be reversed.
I'm not familiar with bollywood works. How prevalent are Wet Sari Scenes? Because least from the trope description that sounds like a term that deserves it's own page.
I really don't see how "sexy woman gets her clothing wet in order to provide fanservice without bare skin" is anything other than a universal trope.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"In other words, Wet Sari Scene is Wet Clothing Fanservice.
Check out my fanfiction!Maybe that's what should be called, and perhaps we can broaden the description to make that clear.
Should there be a TRS thread?
Sure, if there's misuse/underuse to justify it.
Check out my fanfiction!Cross-posting from the TRS thread: The way I see it, if we're going to be accurate, this needs to be expanded as such:
Super-Trope: Wet Clothing Fanservice/Wetlook Fanservice (the latter is the more genre-correct term)
SubTropes: Wet Sari Scene, Wet T-Shirt Contest, Tissue Paper Swimsuit, the male equivalent
The overall effect may be the same, but the contexts are completely different between the three female ones. The first is a (potentially contrived) way for a character to provide fanservice while most likely not meaning to in-story, while the second is deliberately showing off your assets and the third could be either, depending on if the woman knew that the suit would be that revealing when wet.

So result of the TRS thread was move current trope description to new supertrope: Suggested names Wet Clothing Fanservice and Sexy Soaked Shirt.
Wet Sari Scene becomes a subtrope.
Can't figure out what happened the the TRS thread though... we were in the middle of picking a name for the new supertrope, and now I can't find the thread.
In the last Image Pickin' thread for Wet Sari Scene it was mentioned that the trope should only apply to bollywood works and that that there should be a super trope to cover other cases of wet clothing as fanservice. Is this still the case and would require a supertrope to be made or has Wet Sari Scene seen been expanded to cover wet clothes in general?
