Undertale/Deltarune

I was rather fond of you can only use your own, but that's not an entire Alternate Universe, just an Alternate Universe Fic. ... Which is a confusing sentence. What I mean is it's a retelling of how canon could have gone differently, not an additional plane of existence with which the "canon" world can interact directly.

I'm pretty sure, Undertake is one of three communities I can think of that can churn out a day's worth of content every hour on the hour with the other two being Pokemon (and that due to its history and being the largest multimedia franchise in general) and MLP:FiM (and I think that was in part due to its checkered past)

Homestuck, at its height, was similar. Though Undertale kinda replaced it? Toby's involvement in Homestuck meant that the very first Undertale fans would likely have been Homestuck fans, and you can see the influence that the HS fandom had on the Undertale fandom, though it's grown beyond that now.

There's a couple of A Us I followed, but I generally look up fan content for extensions of the original property, and many Undertale A Us are so divergent that they're basically Undertale In Name Only. Or it's glorified Sans wank that turns him into various flavors of Canon Sue and Self-Fanservice, and I've quickly developed a strong distaste for that sort of thing.

I'm sad that he didn't really mention the Sprite comic A Us. They're less visually flashy but they often try hardest to capture the spirit of the game. Inverted Fate even has You Tube animations recently

AUs are like any kind of fan content: 90% are shit, 9% are okay, and 1% are incredibly good.

Specifically, pretty much every Undertale page that contains trope entries contains rampant misuse, which has artificially bloated the size of said pages to a staggering level.

Only about 10% of the tropes are salvageable from what I've seen so far.

We have ALL the problems, from minor stuff like indentation issues to blatant misuse, to completely needless spoilers, to weird speculation.

And then there is the absolutely staggering number if character-only tropes on the main page, like characters don't have their own pages.

Pretty sure we'll end up merging a few pages together.

...On Undertale A Us, I've heard of TS!Underswap from Merg, an Underswap fangame demo that's arguably the best take on the AU yet. (And possibly because it doesn't focus on the Skelebros 24/7.)

What is intersting how undertale fandom when crazy with AU universe instead of using the other endings like the neutral ones who feel like a wasted as result.

Really as far the fandom is concern there is only pacifist and genocide ending.

The best thing I got from the Undertale fandom is a reminder that Papyrus is every bit as sus as his brother in his own way.
