Not entirely dead.Alright, I know I said I'd get this done last night, but then I got distracted running a more direct kind of RPG with my real life friends. Anyway, like I said this is a modified version of a character I made for another RP that seems to have died. (I guess if it does revive, I'll just play slightly different versions of him in both. Heh. )
- Name: Varlam Motya
- Age: 17
- Appearance: Caucasian, skinny, with brown hair in a permanent state of bed-hair that comes down to his shoulders, and green eyes. For clothing, he has a simple grey shirt and brown slacks, and worn down work boots. He also sports an orange hard hat, a simple tool belt, and large, round glasses.
- Faction: Anilix (technically)
- Experience: New mechanic (No formal education, mostly self-trained with a bit of natural talent.)
- Specialization: If you could call it one, non-invasive augmentations. (Things to enhance the capabilities of the human body without replacing or injecting anything. Think power armor, but he's not quite to that point yet.)
- Personality: Seemingly hopelessly enthusiastic, tends to be smiling even when the circumstances are bad. He knows when walking or running away is a good idea, and will do so, but never really gives up in the mental sense. He likes the idea of things like mechanical hands, but dislikes the part most Anilixians take of replacing their body parts with machinery; he prefers his body the way it is. He has a fascination with magic, but isn't an advocate of magi-tech, (yet) nor does he want to learn how to perform magic himself. (Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to.) Due to lack of formal education, he's not good with words.
- Backstory: Varlam grew up in an orphanage in the capital of Anilix, and thus never got a formal education. However, he learned what he could on his own, volunteering at various workshops for small jobs and such. The pay was always pitiful, or nothing at all as a number of workshop owners would laugh at him and the notion of actually paying an orphan. But Varlam learned quickly, and one thing he learned was that getting disheartened about that kind of thing didn't help him.
When exposed to propaganda about the savage Circium people and their witchcraft, Varlam wasn't scared or angry; instead, he wanted to know what those powers were and how they worked. Varlam tried to learn all he could about Circium, which consisted of a lot of propaganda that he tried to ignore.
Finally, the orphanage he had been staying in threw him out, saying he was too old and would have to fend for himself from now on. Some of the other orphans dreaded this, since it would usually lead to a homeless life on the streets. Varlam though? It was exactly what he was waiting for. He made quick visits to the more kind-hearted workshop owners that had paid him fairly in the past, doing quick jobs to get money towards his new goal. One of them gave him a gift; a pair of glasses he had realized Varlam needed after seeing the way the boy handled himself.
After thanking the kind workshop owners, Varlam used what little money he had to set out towards the border, intent on seeing what Circium was really like.
So as for starting location, he'd be approaching Weist town.

You are reading this. My, my. I know what I'm signing up for.
- Name: Rey Arbis
- Age: 55
- Appearance: Rey is a regular human, no mutations, magical changs, or metallic limbs. He dresses in normal clothing. Said clothing is a slightly loose, long-sleeved green shirt with a vest over it whenever it gets cold, and black pants, with shoes that he can run in. Rey is 5'9" and of a good build, combining magic with athletics. Due to his skill in magic, Rey is younger than he looks, appearing to be in his early thirties.
- Faction/Nation: Border, in that he believes a compromise should be made between science and technology.
- Experience: Sorcerer and Certified Mechanic
- Specialization: As a Certified Mechanic, cybernetic replacement and augmentation of body parts; as a Sorcerer, elemental magic and their extensions, combinations, applications, etc. (Think the four elements combined with Supernatural Martial Arts when it comes to his magic use.) The element Rey is best with is Fire.
- Personality: Rey is a man of principle and adaptability. When new beliefs and ideas come along, he checks them out and sees if he agrees or not. When it comes to the magic-technology conflict, Rey believes that both sides are being silly and that both nations could achieve more if they united technology and magic. Overall, Rey is both polite and kind, but frank when he means to be. He is fascinated with both tech and magic, both is inclined towards magic, seeing it as more natural and slightly more reliable. Rey goes out of his way to help people when he can and lift their spirits with his sense of humor. He is hardly sarcastic, only when someone points out the obvious or when at odds with another person.
- Bio/A Brief History of You: Rey was born in a Border town on the Circium side of things. Rey decided to learn elemental magic when he was mystified one day by a performance of the town's sorcerer. Despite being on the Circium side of the border, the town also had a mechanic who was locked in a friendly rivalry with the sorcerer. When Rey was also astounded by the mechanic's machinery and the strangeness of his mechanical limb, Rey became his apprentice as well. Despite a debate between both mentors, they eventually came to see Rey as a young man talented in both fields of the split world. Eventually the sorcerer and the mechanic released Rey from his apprenticeship to both of them, telling him he was ready to go out into the world and make his own way as a man of two trades. Rey moved to another Border town, practicing and experimenting with his magic and mechanics while helping the town any way he can.

Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...Um.
So I'll be editing a bio into this in hopefully less than half an hour. Sound interesting ^.^ Um. Hopefully you will take slightly late stuff? (OK TYPING)
Name:Seraphim Landloss
Age:19
Appearance:Extremely pale and slightly built with red hair, Seraphim stands at a fairly low level. He wears extremely light, white linen robes, and his hair is long, almost halfway down his back. His left ear is pierced, an odd silver moon earring dangling from it. His eyes are an extremely light gray and they often wander lost in thought.
Nation/Faction:Circium
Experience:Caster
Specialization:Non Combative magic, healing and protective fields in particular, though he has a pretty good knowledge of just plain out useful spells that allow him to do things such as cook, repair fabric, and summon rather pleasant light and heat.
Personality:Somewhat timid and unsure of himself, Seraphim has no real confidence in what he can do or is able to do. He is patient and not easily angered, and even when he is angry, he can scarcely keep being so. In practice, he is a nearly perfect pacifist, and oftentimes will let things that anger him slide for the sake of the peace. He is attempting to grow more of a spine, but for the moment he does not have a very strong will.
Bio:Raised in a family who owned a decently successful restaurant in the capital, Seraphim was one of two children. Throughout his life he hoped to eventually own the place, striving each day to master the mundane magic needed in the place in addition to the magic he never cared for he was taught in public school. On his seventeenth birthday, his dream was shattered by his older sister who took over, forcing him to move out when his schooling was completed. Now he barely scrapes by in a not so well of district of the capitol, and he is hoping to improve his standard of living even if it means doing things he'd rather not. At the moment, he's resigned to healing minor injuries in a hospital.

Bet you didn't see that comingIs it okay to have experience in both fields?
Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...We're only three posts in, you should be fine.
@Insano: Yeah, so long as you can justify it in your back-story.
Not entirely dead. What kind of clothes are allowed in this setting?
Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...@Blackfire: Any response to my signup? it's just above Insano's.
Also, Aqueos has edited to make a signup above as well.
You are reading this.Finished my bio. Read and review.
Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...If I don't say anything, assume you're approved! :D
@Insano: Clothes? Think typical fantasy or Steampunk stuff. You can wear a plain shirt and pants if you want, though. It's not all that important... Oh, as for your Elemental Magic, pick one element as your forte. You can have basic mastery over the others.

Not entirely dead.A bit unorthodox, but okay.
I'll possibly get an intro done tonight then.
You are reading this.- Name: Aileen Bludstrud
- Age: 112
- Appearance: Kind of like this, but less surprised looking and with more tattoos
- Faction/Nation: Circium
- Experience: Sorceress
- Specialization: Shamanic magic. Mostly manifestation of spirit companions.
- Personality: Withdrawn, serious and mostly focused on her self determined quest. She is startled by loud noises, can barely handle contamination and is distrustful of machines. Summing all those stuff with her submission to the Gods and her following of the old ways make her a very bad fit for the capital of Anilix... and yet, there she is.
- Bio/A Brief History of You: A Circium Sorceress from a corner of the island which practices shamanistic magic and keeps their own rich culture alive. She has lived peacefully on her hometown for most of her life, though she has made travels to almost all of Circium's territory to further her studies and as a tourist on occasion. That is, until a couple of years back when inspired by a Anilixian traveler she felt the call to go to Takei on a quest to examine the city's land and try to protect and expand on whatever nature is left in the mechanist capital. To date, her efforts have made her the warden of a little park tucked on a corner of the city... though her withdrawn nature, eccentric way of dress, strange customs and unusual tattoos have not made her stay any easier, nor have they helped any Anitrixian citizen consider the mages of Circium any more civilized.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.... Does this have a discussion or not? XD
Avatar SourceEdited my bio.
Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...@daltar: A Circite in Takei would be incredibly unwelcome, subject to near-constant harassment and generally treated poorly. Just so you know. :P
Not entirely dead.Perfect!
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Hmm... is it too late to jump in?
