Several problems with it.: Green Eggs

Eh, I'd prefer something a bit more pithy, but it'll do in a pinch.

I definitely agree that Green Eggs is not a great name for this trope since it does not indicate that it is about alien food at all. Given the lack of use, I think this trope can probably be renamed.

I feel like Palette-Swapped Alien Food and Alien Technicolor Food are the most direct names, but I honestly doubt that naming the trope something like Alien Bacon Is Blue is likely to cause much misuse.

Classical Depending on the Moderator case, Katrika. AFAIK the lower limit is usually 10. Anyway, I've already put up the alt-titles crowner here with a few suggestions.

Renames are a bit too important to do lightly. Less than 15 votes is really lightly.

Come on, it's unanimous.

Also, we never had a quorum rule anyway.

But it's been in discussion for a full month. If it doesn't have fifteen votes in a month, it probably won't get fifteen. And it was 13 votes, and unanimous.

True, I'm just trying to cut down on rushed crowners. We've had a lot of them where the reason they haven't gotten votes is because no one has posted since the crowner went up. So they've just sunk and posting on them that it needs a few more votes and waiting a couple hours tends to get them.

I will point out that it was lower in votes when we started this. It does tend to work. I'll call it at the end of the night if it doesn't vote up. Think of this as more of a last ditch call for votes.

Uh, even if I wanted to vote in a different direction, it's telling me that the crowner is closed (though I'm fairly certain that I did vote on this one). Kind of hard to attract more votes if it won't accept them.

I think the name Blue Food From Outer Space doesn't do much to imply that aside from colour, it actually looks like regular, Earthly food. It sounds more like it applies to any food, no matter shape or consistence. I don't get the feeling it's necessarily blue, though.

I disagree with any name that represents only an example of the trope, because those are contractually required to be narrower than the actual definition.

"Green Eggs" is the naming equivalent of Just A Face And A Caption (and Not An Example, too). The suggested example-names are not much better. A little better, yes, but not by much.

If it was possible to actually create blue spaghetti without the use of food coloring, I'd do so just to show how it's as bad of a name as the current one (I could produce purple spaghetti in a heartbeat, though). Stupid blue pigments not being produced by most things in nature... high cyanic doses is only a little fatal.

Calling crowner in favor of Palette-Swapped Alien Food

Moved Green Eggs and all its wicks to Palette-Swapped Alien Food, made Laconic.Palette Swapped Alien Food, cutlisted Laconic.Green Eggs, added the note in Renamed Tropes and the FAQ thread and made Blue Food From Outer Space a redirect.
