Ok, we need better names here, clearly.
To me, the Robot Chicken example encapsulates the trope. They had, they thought, a clever idea for an Affectionate Parody of The Golden Girls, but it didn't work as parody because it was no different from what actually happened on the show. None of the names currently in the crowner really seem to capture that. I understand why the current name might seem too broad but those don't work at all.
The child is father to the man —OedipusI'd say "Redundant Parody" covers it. But the YKTTW for RedundantParody, which we're splitting off from this page, has five hats and is ready to launch.
Redundant Parody has five hats. Shall I launch it?
What is that Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch pothole there?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBecause it's about delighting in the mockery of a work you've not seen.
All right, launched the Redundant Parody YKTTW.
Remaining steps:
- Create the actual article using this code.
- Remove duplicate entries from Parody Failure
- Change wicks/cross-wick
- Add to Parody Tropes index
- Launch remaining tropes split from Parody Failure

The non-reply part is finished, or must some replies be merged with the main text first?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSorry, not following you.
Oh! Yes, all the replies are integrated into the non-reply section.
All right, Redundant Parody is fully launched. We still need to remove the duplicate examples from Parody Failure and change the wicks.
Spoofed The Ironic Film Seriously has five hats. Think it's good to go?
All right. I "launched" Spoofed the Ironic Film Seriously. We now must
- Create the actual article from this source code
- Delete the bad examples/change wicks from Parody Failure, for this and for Redundant Parody
Meanwhile, Spoofed With Their Own Words is up to five hats.

Err, isn't "serious spoofing" = pastisse?
A pastiche isn't quite the same thing as a spoof. Also, "spoofed it seriously" doesn't imply that the spoof is serious, but that the spoof took the film seriously (even though it wasn't meant to be).
Anyway, thanks for what you've done so far, Routerie!
Created the page, but I don't know on which indexes to put it on.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI remember and old version of the article that mentioned the Weird Al spoof of Devo (by sounding more like a pastiche than a parody) and Family Guy when they showed the Gene Kelly and Jerry Mouse dance from Anchors Aweight with Stewie pasted over (as it don't really changes anything). Which trope will fit these now?
I think that's how Al described it at some point, and the term just stuck.
Calling crowner in favor of Nominal Parody.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Bumping this, as no rename seems to have occurred.
Also, it's safe to say that this little hissy fit in the Webcomics section is completely unacceptable, right?
Once we launch all the subtropes, there won't be much left to rename.
Spoofed With Their Own Words has five hats. Shall I launch it?
Please do so.
What's left to do after that besides the rename?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Did the rename, but we need the launch or scrap the YKTTWs.
