This thread's for all of the X-Men comics and spin-offs (X-Force, X-Factor, New Mutants etc.), whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate X-Men, X-Men 2099, X-Men "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- X-Men 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Wolverine, Deadpool, Ms. Marvel and Cable.
- Characters and comics that originated in X-Men and its related books but are no longer connected to the franchise are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their X-Men related stories here.
Discussions that are only about X-Men adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).
I have to say that the X Men franchise has been going on for decades. Maybe not as many as the Superman franchise has, but it still has quite a number to it.
One thing I am certain of is that the franchise seems to be subverting Status Quo Is God in recent years. Magneto and Professor Xavier seem to be fading into the background, with Cyclops and Wolverine taking their places. A lot of villains associated to the X-Men have been killed off and have actually stayed dead so far.
All this gives me the general impression that the franchise is trying to reinvent itself. Do you think that's what's going on here?

I wonder why Psylocke was the female X-rep in Marvel Superheroes over Storm. Then again she sat out X-Men VS Street Fighter so I guess they're even.
Oh, I don't think it's a boner that keeps Psylocke in use.
Though the recent shift away from blatantly fanservice costumes has affected Psylocke, too. She wears clothes now. I actually really like her current costume, it strikes me as being pretty reasonable for a ninja to wear.

Mileena MadnessSo a random question for you all:
Someone hands Magneto a copy of Boku no Hero Academia.
How does he react to a fictional version of the society he's dreamed of creating?
One Strip! One Strip! He goes and kills the writer for daring to write such a fantasy, knowing Magneto himself has yet to achieve it.
Alternatively, he thinks the writer is a mutant in hiding and tells him, "Your secret is safe with me, brother".
I think the second one is more likely.
Though maybe he'd just get a laugh out of it and be glad someone can write that kind of story.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh gosh, Magneto being a fan of manga would be a fun idea. Given how old he is, it's fun to see a man his age get into anime since it's usually seen as a younger person thing. But then again, he would be happy with a story where mutants ruled the world.
I really wonder what they're going to do with Mags in several decades when even with the de-aging it would be unlikely for him to be alive in the present. Retcon him into a survivor of a more recent atrocity like the '90s Balkan genocide, maybe?
That would mean he wouldn't be Jewish anymore. On the other hand, like with Captain America, Holocaust survivors and World War 2 veterans are becoming and more a dying breed. With Captain America, they can extend him being frozen, while with Magneto they would need to come up with an explanation like retconing his backstory or maybe making it so that he ages slowly due to his mutant powers.
I believe Evolution revealed he used the same machine that made Cap a super soldier to extend his lifespan.
He apparently also dabbled in Genetic engineering and did so on himself.
I suppose they could bullshit that something about Eric's powers extends his lifespan, but I'm not sure if magnetism does that.
One Strip! One Strip! When has that stopped him before?
Pseudo science can explain this. Also it would mean that his wife would have to be retconned as a Holocaust survivor and just made into a woman he met while wandering the earth and kept his true age a secret from her.
I like Evolution's more mundane (in comparison at least) solution to the aging problem.
Maybe Magneto and Professor X were somehow sent forward 20-30 years into their future, or they found the Fountain of Youth 20-30 years ago

Magneto being de aged by Hydra in the MCU could work.
Mileena Madness...They did have de-aging tech via Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
But as we all know, it would require someone willing to care about AOS.
One Strip! One Strip! So who would win in a fight between Proteus, Legion and Nate Grey?
Still trying to kill all mutants? *unimpressed*
Wake me up at your own risk. They will use 1000 purple death robots.
Mileena MadnessX-Men Disassembled? Is Bendis back already?
Ultimate Secret WarsI see the House of Ideas is still pumping out “new” ideas.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Weekly is bullshit. It's a terrible way of doing things. Hopefully, it's only for the length of the event, and then it'll be just once a month.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.
Plus, let’s face it, her purple skin fitting one piece costume is a pretty damn iconic look. Why else does Capcom want to put her in Marvel Super Heroes over more iconic X-Men characters like Storm or Colossus (both of which were well known for wearing one piece costumes in their iconic years of the X-Men)?
Though I do now wonder if Marvel would of kept the whole Black Frank Castle thing if he was wearing costume similar to Psylocke? Now that I think about it, again, Punisher went through crazier changes than Psylocke as he was a black guy, an angel, a Frankenstein monster and just recently War Machine; and he is supposed to be a character that is a realistice portrayal of vigilantes.
