Once again, late night/early morning posting never goes well for me...

Something I don't get about Amber (yeah yeah, big shocker) is that her whole thing where she refused to date Danny as Amber was rooted in her fear that she'd hurt him, right? Why's she perfectly fine with Walky then?

Walky is a lot harder to hurt? I mean, Danny practically shatters every time his world changes, while Walky is a model of oblivious contentment.

I thought the idea was that Amber being with anyone would involve her devolving into emotional and maybe even physical abuse. That's what scared her so much when she tripped up after Danny kissed her. I don't think Walky's dumb enough to obliviously shrug his way through being verbally abused, were it to hypothetically happen.

I mean, the dude eats nothing but fast food and yet has something that can even be described as "abs". I can kinda get it.

The worst part of it all is that Amber and Walky's whirlwind romance must come to an end, because Lucy is waiting in the wings and she is Best Girl.

Oh, just those girls.

It's just the girl involved in a near-kidnapping by a gunman on campus, the girl who recently had a big brawl in front of the dorm and who had a parent be denied access to campus, or, to find a more common ground, all three girls directly involved in the Ryan situation a few weeks ago.

And Sarah.

...and Mike.

Just a bunch of unimportant people, really!

...shit, yeah, thinking about it now, every major event that happened in campus over the last three months outside of Ruth's breakdown has involved at least one of those three.

It's almost like they're the main characters even amidst an Ensemble Cast.

What? Joyce is a protagonist amongst this ensemble cast? What gave you that idea?

Jokes aside though, yeah. It's just that in my memory, for some reason, the other characters were more involved in the plot than this.

So how long has it been since Mike went flying? Six months? A year? Because it sure feels like the latter.

Two months. On January 7th. We then spent two months building up to a climatic moment that didn't actually come in that chapter, but will hopefully pay off in this one.

According to Willis, this is basically supposed to be a season finale, so one presumes he's going to wrap stuff like that up.
