I don't think Orochimaru'd be able to stand a chance against anyone driving a truck, let alone someone like Venom.
It's been 3000 years…Side note, did you saw the tweet Screw Attack reblogged from Ben? I swear the RT fans will hate us for doing that. It`s the one where Ben notes that the entire season 5 of DB is in the Poll Roosterteeth makes every year and basically wants to annoy them by voting them up and getting them into the 24 hour best of livestream And before you ask, I`ve voted for Mario vs Sonic (2018), Crash vs Spyro, Ultron vs Sigma & Roshi vs Jiraya

Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?Easily the best fight of this season, but I thought this season on the whole was worse than season 4. The humor was weaker and I didn't like the removal of music from the characters' home series (I know they did that last season, but the soundtrack was worse this season imo).
Well, that was some Epic fun.
One Strip! One Strip!Whats with the awful music and weird sound balance. Darkseid's lines are almost all drowned out by the spectacularly awful song.
I did enjoy the form the Omega Sanction took
I find it funny that Darkseid's model came from the shitshow that was Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.
This fight did him more justice
It wasn't the Injustice 2 model?
Uni catEeyup, that fight's about right. I was rooting for Thanos but knew Darkseid would take it.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.No, the fight used his post-Crisis design, which M Kv DCU used as well. His I2 model is more modern.
I suppose I should have seen Deadpool's appearance coming. The Nomad cameo, though...I mean, you want to come out and say you're just shilling for Rooster Teeth at that point?
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)"Darkseid, archnemeis to the Justice League."
No he's archnemesis to the New Gods of New Genesis.
And Superman's,don't forgot how he was enslaved by him at one point according to the cartoons (and comics,I think?)
New theme music also a boxThat was in the cartoons only.
Funny thing is, the only reason they used Darkseid was because the cartoon's creators didn't think Superman's rogues gallery was interesting or dangerous enough on its own.
Also, I never noticed until now how very similar Darkseid's New 52 attire is to Thanos'.

Even though it looks a bit... dorky? due to the models, I'm digging how much more they used facial expressions here than usual. The new animation team didn't disappoint in the slightest for their second fight, and this was a pretty good season finale.
I like how the ending of the fight was a tone-dissonant kick in the nuts for Thanos, in contrast to how grandiose and epic the rest of the fight was. Probably the most comic book-y note they could of ended on.
I'll post my rankings for the episodes this season later, with short thoughts on each episode. Not sure how I'd compare the season on the whole to last, it had a lot more knockout fights (especially in the 2D department! This year's sprite fights were REALLY good) but as mentioned last page some of the humor seemed weaker, especially once they transitioned to animating Wiz & Boomstick and the jokes started to feel completely disconnected from the actual rundowns.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSince the rap battle video was linked in a previous post... Does anyone know who the blonde floating next to Darkseid at 3:03 is?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Supergirl. It's from his Injustice 2 ending.
That battle was awesome. The escalation just kept getting more and more epic as the fight went on.
I love it when the series references comic books I've actually read, in this case the Fantastic Four run where Reed meets the council of Reeds featuring Reed.
Bleye knows Sabers.OK, and the outfit she's wearing... is it a reference to anything, or just something the dev team invented for the ending?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. It's a reference to the time she was brainwashed by Darkseid during the comics' "Supergirl From Krypton" arc,◊ which was in turn adapted into Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Alrighty, as promised, a vaguely-ordered ranking of this season's episodes from least favorite to most with a few sentences explaining my thoughts.
- Ultron VS Sigma (While the finisher was unique and the dialogue enjoyable, the fight itself was a foregone conclusion and the animation was awkward for most of it. The good setpieces didn't really alleviate the fight looking janky.)
- Crash VS Spyro (As good as the fight's animation was- and props to Torrian for pulling the cartoony style off well- I can't really rewatch the episode in good conscience due to the "Crash shows signs of autism" thing. The longer I dwell on it the more it pisses me off and it affects my enjoyment of the rest of the episode as such.)
- Leon Kennedy VS Frank West (The fight had good moments but the matchup itself wasn't really interesting to me. I do still like the episode, though!)
- Jotaro VS Kenshiro (The nature of the fighters means there were only two outcomes the fight ever could of ended in, so it's like half a foregone conclusion... or something. Still fun to watch, though, even if it's a bit weak.)
- Nightwing VS Daredevil (I think the fight itself was good, for sure! Ismahawk made a good mark with the series' first live-action fight. The analysis has some wonky stuff in it, though, mainly with glossing over Daredevil's use of sonic earplugs while giving Nightwing the sonic Wingding from the Arkham games.)
- Doctor Strange VS Doctor Fate (Fun fight all around and they did a good job of escalating both sorcerers to their limits! Plus, they did a pretty thorough analysis for it- kind of have to with these two.)
- Black Panther VS Batman (The animation itself was a good brawling romp and it reminded me of the older episodes, in a good way. Plus, Batman getting his ass handed to him in a VS series never gets old- I say as a DC fan.)
- Raven VS Twilight Sparkle (For the kind of matchup it was, the fight kept things feeling really close and tense for its entirety. Not a fight I was expecting, but one I'm glad they did.)
- Optimus Prime VS Gundam (The new animators knocked it out of the park for this one, and it marked a long-overdue return for Mobile Suit Gundam and Transformers both. To paraphrase the pitch for the episode, "CLASSIC GIANT ROBOT CARNAGE. HELL YEAH.")
- Sora VS Pit (I love both characters and I think they did a good job covering and portraying them! Bonus points for not going out of their way to dunk on the plot of Kingdom Hearts, low-hanging fruit it may be. Main thing keeping me from liking this episode more is some weird analysis stuff, but I think the outcome's correct at least.
- Roshi VS Jiraiya (Obvious outcome it might be, the fight still managed to be really fun and most of the jokes within it hit their mark. Roshi being flustered for most of the fight's always gonna make me laugh.)
- Carnage VS Lucy (I love when they do unexpected matchups like this! The creepy atmosphere for the fight helped make it memorable, as did how well they utilized Carnage's shapeshifting and Lucy's vectors.)
- Ryu VS Jin (Torrian went out on a bang, and this was a matchup I wanted for a while- it starts with some good ol' fashioned fisticuffs before going full hype with Devil Jin VS Evil Ryu. Also, props for going against the common consensus by giving Ryu the win, then managing to back it up to where I've actually not seen anyone disagree with their outcome since then. Considering this is Death Battle, that's an accomplishment to pull off!)
- Mario VS Sonic (A good, cartoony rematch that has a lot of fun with both characters skillset- and personality-wise. I like this episode a ton... and Mario winning doesn't hurt, either!)
- Thanos VS Darkseid (This episode lived up to the years of hype, I'd say. From Thanos doing crazy shit with the Infinity Gauntlet to the two of them brawling so hard it resets the universe, it's a fight that captures an epic scale we haven't seen since Chuck Norris VS Segata Sanshiro. I like how the finisher was kind of silly, too, instead of being some big flashy kill of some kind. Somehow, it fits both characters for how intimidating they were the rest of the fight.)
- Samurai Jack VS Afro Samurai (Not only was this a fight I wanted for a while, but this might also be my most rewatched episode in the series. Uniquely, they animated this one themselves instead of getting help from another studio- and they pulled it off! It's super stylish from beginning to end, and just having a (mostly) straightforward swordfight is something I don't think they've done before this episode either. It's a visual treat and probably in my top 5 episodes from all of Death Battle.)
I'm pretty sure that Nighwing has had sonic wingdings way before the Arkham series. And I'm also pretty sure that Daredevil's sonic earplugs have to be activated beforehand.
Man Darkseid truly is the God of evil.
Forcing a man to constantly relieve having the woman he loves being macked on by Deadpool is just cruel.
And you know that shit escalates so he's gonna be walking in on them having sex.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm surprised at how high Raven vs. Twilight is. Everyone else I know who watches lists it as their least favorite, because they don't care about MLP.

Crazy good match-up I totally didn't steal from some random Deviantart picture.
