Quite. Bowser is hard to kill while Ganon is straight-up unkillable barring very specific circumstances. The latter's victory was inevitable; it was just a matter of figuring out which of his abilities could best bypass Bowser's strength and durability.
Literal immortality counts for a lot in Death Battle.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Just thought up a new idea for a battle. How would you all feel about Hannibal Lecter vs. Dexter Morgan?
I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money. And if they were to update Bowser and Ganon's abilities to account for their most-recent games... Bowser doesn't really have any new tricks up his sleeve aside from a snazzy top-hat with boxing gloves; while Ganon becomes an Eldritch Abomination that's literally Made of Evil, and can alternate between a vaguely boar-shaped cloud of miasma, an undead magitek cyborg, and a giant invulnerable boar-demon.
Eeyup.
Bowser was a thematically strong matchup, but also a foregone conclusion. Kratos could probably kill Ganon; his whole body is a divine weapon, what with literally being a god and all. Pit could fulfill the divine weapon criteria, having weapons that are blessed by Palutena. Goku, as of Battle of Gods, has transformations that would obliterate Ganon in seconds. There are opponents who can meet the divine weapon requirement without being Link specifically.
But Bowser isn't one of them, as the only divine weapons he's ever wielded were stolen MacGuffins that he lost by game's end.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Dexter wins, because he's not an octogenerian.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Neither is Hannibal?
Hannibal is smart but he has never to my awareness built a giant robot
Forever liveblogging the AvengersJoke would only work if he hadn't linked to Dexter
0/10 for effort.
On that topic, how about Dexter vs Jimmy Neutron?
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805If we're talking in a Death Battle, I want to say Dexter takes it. He has a number of mechs to choose from, which IIRC Jimmy doesn't have as much access to.
I don't doubt that Jimmy could make something like Dexter's Voltron expy, I just think that unless there's prep time involved, Dexter has more combat options readily available.
...I may have forgotten that there was that TV series with Mads Mikkeksen. I was thinking Anthony Hopkins.
I still think Dexter takes it, thanks to his raw lumberjack strength.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Hannibal kills normal people while Dexter kills serial killers. As such, I think Dexter's going to have an easier time.
It's been 3000 years…Dexter wins no problem.
Hannibal with prep outmaneuvered a SWAT team who were allegedly prepared for him.
Then there's TV Hannibal. And I've not even watched Manhunter to see what he did there.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Jimmy may have designed some pretty powerful things on occasion, but mostly his inventions are more utilitarian and comparatively mundane when placed next to Dexter's extremely grandiose misadventures. Dexter keeps a gigantic stockpile of weapons around, and Jimmy doesn't. Also, a lot of the powerful things he makes become so eventually rather than immediately, and most of the stuff that could kill Dexter are just as likely to kill him instead.
Jimmy's best bets would be his various rays: the Freeze Ray, the Hypno Ray, and especially the Shrink Ray. But Dexter by and large has ways of either duplicating or getting around each of those effects.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I love how much of a huge nerd Dexter clearly is. Jimmy has crazy science stuff, but it's all generic. Dexter clearly watches and is inspired by anime.
Dexter, more or less, aspires to dominate the world and rule mankind.
Jimmy wants to... I dunno. Get rich quick? Make friends and influence people?
My various fanfics.Doesn't Dexter hunt criminals like a Witcher hunts monsters?
So isn't Hannibal just more prey for him?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Okay, we really need to focus on a Dexter here.
My various fanfics.Pretty sure Jimmy does it For Science!

Thats Cartoon Dexter's motivation too.
I'd actually go with Dexter of Dexter's lab vs Mojo Jojo.
Didi wins! Flawless victory!
...what Dexter were you watching?
So isn't Hannibal just more prey for him?
Thing is:
- Hannibal is pretty agile/clever from what I remember in Silence of the Lambs, moreso than Dexter is on his Showtime TV budget, although Dexter is maybe a better fighter
- Both have a high tolerance for pain, Dexter getting shot in the leg and overpowering a more physically built cop/Doakes in Season 2 in a struggle that took place at night inside a lake, and Hannibal chopping off his own arm before making his escape in Hannibal
- Dexter hunts other serial killers, but hasn't really gone up against someone like Hannibal who also targets serial killers, specifically figuring out their MO and assisting FBI agents in figuring them out - Hannibal doesn't make a career out of it like Dexter does, but they're both
PlayerSerial Killer Killers technically, so Dexter doesn't have the advantage of his prey being unaware of or unprepared for his own tactics- Dexter does have the advantage of Lecter being older, while Lexter probably lacks the advantage of talking Dexter to suicide since A) we can't quantify that, and B) Dexter has his own hallucinated murder conscience to drive out Hannibal's Break Them by Talking anyway
- Both have infiltrated law enforcement - Hannibal was up against the FBI and was actually imprisoned, while Dexter comfortably slid into the Miami PD knowing that it would be easy for him to play along, and the main reason Dexter isn't caught is due to
his coworkers being idiotshis father being a cop who taught Dexter how to not get caught- Though, Lecter is more "psychologically stable" than Dexter who A) talks to himself, and B) is prone to fits of rage when his plans go awry.
- Dexter usually takes long periods of times to figure out his prey, while Lecter covertly figures what they're about and thanks to Sherlock Scan/plot convenience usually has them pegged.
- Dexter actively struggles with his need to kill people and gets sloppy when he hasn't done it in awhile. Lecter doesn't seem to have this conflict, merely choosing to channel his energy into cannibalism and obtuseness.
- Dexter has a need to collect trophies which comes to bite him in the ass later, as well as a lingering attachment to his family. Lecter is already a known serial killer by the time the story begins and his only attachment is to people like Will Graham and Clarice Starling.
Hannibal:
- agile
- smarter
- damn good at figuring out serial killers
- known killer
- takes an interest in people
Dexter:
- better alibi
- better access to tools due to freely working with law enforcement
- younger
- has a secret identity and a family to protect
- doesn't really care about people
