Pants are an illusion, and so is death.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."Mmmm actually not liking this so far. It's hard to explain why, but I feel they are not explaining/demonstrating the tropes well enough. I also haven't warmed up to the characters as well.
Also... DANGIT! I HAD THIS IDEA MONTHS AGO! Though my execution would have been way different. After summarizing the trope, I would have taken clips from around youtube that were related and display them. Maybe occasionally do live action stuff as well.
Oh well, it's only two episodes in. Good luck!
I hope that Apocalyptic Log is a Series Fauxnale.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...New episode! It was awesome!

Good episode! I loved that last joke.
https://angelskingsandweirdos.com ''Where imagination takes wing... and then gets sucked into a jet turbine."I kind of agree on that^. Having to go to the recap page, to go to the specific recap for each video, to see the tropes lists for each episode is both annoying and not what really the recap pages are intended for. The trope lists aren't huge, and might as well be all on the main page. They can be foldered if people don't want them all out in plain view for some reason.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I think Dana needs to do weirder stuff. Otherwise it's going to be boring old Positive Discrimination.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Well the latest episode was pretty good. And I think the opening sequence got pumped full of pizazz and/or production values.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWatched the 3rd episode. Better than the last one for sure. I think my main problem with this show from last time is that it tries to frame all the tropes with an Excuse Plot, which I think is unnecessary. But that is sadly the core of the show, so I'll just hope I can get used to it.
Just to repeat myself, I did enjoy most of the 3rd episode. Looking forward to next week.
Elysie will return during the final episode, where the three main characters are put on trial Seinfield-style.
The Administrator is actually a girl.

sry, but i just dont find em funny.. besides, i want the images back! =(
Yeah, they are for people who can spell.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyIs there a trope for the fallacy of "Your spelling and/or grammar are wrong therefore your argument is invalid?" That would make for a pretty fun Echo Chamber episode :P
It's cool.
I have been in enough writing workshops to know I can't please everybody. I don't mind that he doesn't like it. And I do agree that the embeds should be relocated to the bottom of the page descriptions after a couple weeks.
I think the videos are pretty exceptional for "Not just talking to a camera" non-professional work. Of course, how that compares to professional work...
Third episode and I still don't know how I feel about this show. I think it has a lot of potential but I don't think it's quite there yet. I think my main problem is that none of the characters are coming off as sympathetic right now. I am hoping that they and the show will grow on me.
I say instead of moving the like to the bottom, we put it up next to YMMV, WMG, and Characters tab. This would make it noticeable, but still not overpowering.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Hmm, I'd like to see this show progress more from a straight comedy thing (which is great) to a dramedy with characters we care about and a Story Arc, while still remaining funny (which would be awesome). How about instead of dropping the Freudian Excuse plotline introduced in Episode Two, develop it and explore it a bit in later episodes?
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."Okay :)

I learn about how stories work for the same reason that soldiers learn how to strip a rifle.I would go the opposite direction. Keep the characters as undefinied as possible so they can be fit into a mass different trope scenarios as possible.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. But if you have strong characters, then even if some jokes fall flat you'll still love the series because you care about them. And a lot of humor can be derived from consistent characterization. Characters making fun of each other is the prime example. If we have context for that it can be a lot more character-specific and less genericly insulting, and therefore more cutting and funny.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."
Gondor needs no pants!
(Also, Tom is Gondor.)
