This thread is to request that a locked article be unlocked. Please read the guidelines below before making a request.
- Please see Locked Pages and Permanent Redlink Club first. If an article is on the Permanent Redlink Club, it will not be unlocked, ever.
- Pages cut a while ago were automatically locked. Before asking for an unlock, make sure that the article you want to create is in the proper Namespace, has gone through YKTTW if it's a trope, and otherwise fulfills our guidelines for Creating New Pages.
- If you just want to make an edit to an article, post here instead.
- Don't ask for new Main redirects. Those are only for old articles with lots of existing inbounds.
Original post
I'll start it off: could someone please unlock Hootie And The Blowfish so I can make a new page on it? The last page was cut for being copypasta from Wikipedia.

I unlocked YMMV.Third Rate Gamer. We do articles on prominent YouTubers — that's fine. The main article should go in Web Original, though, if it isn't there already (I didn't look).

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I wonder why the character sheet for Angry Birds is locked.
It was cut for being redundant. See the recent cuts list. While I understand that it's popular to anthropomorphize the birds and pigs and assign them characterization tropes, it smacks of massive overthinking.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Scuse me, unlock HighOctaneNightmareFuel.MOTHER 3 please? Icon on top of the page?
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything. — Talking Heads, 1977Done. Cut pages need the cut reason appended to the lock reason in the mod console. I'll ask Eddie to do that.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"May I ask for for an unlock on Pretty Cool Guy? It's a Just for Fun and doesn't need to involve tropes (although I could be wrong about that)
Why was it cut anyways?
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.It said it involved no tropes and was full of memes. Well, might as well cut Memetic Mutation and other Just for Fun pages for the reason. .-.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.
Not that I'd really object to doing that, but I'm fairly certain there was more to the demise of Pretty Cool Guy then just being a meme. I think it was being treated as an actual trope or something like that.
If that's the case, then it needs to be moved to the Just for Fun namespace.
The problem with Pretty Cool Guy was that it attracted useless, inaccurate potholes and shoehorning abound. I see no reason it should exist. It has a page on Know Your Meme and it doesn't need one here. (It also doesn't afraid of anything.)
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!Yeah, Pretty Cool Guy didn't add anything to the wiki. It had nothing to do with tropes and it was full of Sinkholes, and it wasn't even funny or interesting because every entry was identical.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I see. Well Sinkholes be darned.

That's why I tend to be against meme pages - they tend to have negative effects on the rest of the wiki (like encouraging sinkholing) in way that other Just for Fun pages don't do as much.
If you want to add internet memes, wrong wiki. Not what we're about. If you are not here for the tropes you'll find other sites that cater to your interests much better than this one.
Memes have repeatedly proven to be a bad idea, even as Just for Fun. They give the impression Tv Tropes is something it is not and they spread like red weed kudzu triffids.

I request for The Garbage Pail Kids Movie to be unlocked. I still feel the tone of the description is a bit too harsh and I want to give it another fix. Moreover, the Nostalgia Critic review that made it infamous was over a year ago, so I'm pretty sure the edit war over it has died down.
I agree about the tone. The example section isn't great either, multiple tropes in one bullet, tropes without details, tropes that are there more as a jab.
These days I'm more hesitant to unlock pages that have been a problem befored. History tends to repeat itself, what I've seen. How about writing up a sandbox version and asking for it to be swapped over in the edit request thread?
I'll give that a shot sure, I'll post it here when I'm finished.
Wrong topic, my apologies.

Anti Shipping Goggles is locked and blanked. I've tried searching, but can't seem to find any reason for it. I'm just wondering what happened to it? Apologies if this is the wrong place.
@mack, I think it was something about YKTTW or Ask The Tropers, I am not sure.
Anyway, can Hollywood Thin be unlocked? I don't see any reason for a continuing lock in the page history.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPtitler6tvpmsc (aka Götterdämmerung) seems to have been cut, despite having inbounds and discussion. Can we re-make that as a redirect? (The discussion page should be moved to the non-ptitle version as well.)

Rhymes with "Protracted."Just making a note that Main.Sesquipedalian Smith was cut recently, but the Troper who requested the cut, PaulA, left a note on its discussion page that he made a mistake - he wanted to cut a page which had a similar name but with a typo in it, but while submitting the request, accidentally put in the title sans typo. Both ended up cut.
I mean, I wouldn't know where to start in recreating the trope, but at the very least, it's fairly obviously a gaffe. Also not sure if this is the correct topic to put this in (I'm familiar with TV Tropes' main wiki, not its forums), but it seems like as good a place as any...
