Clarify and/or split? DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Ptitle2s6v9yii

The description says it doesn't always have to mean anything sexual; does that mean it's open to other subjects? If so does its overall defining trait refer to fantasy counterparts of real-life issues, such as is done with What Do You Mean, It's Not Political? and Fantastic Racism?

It doesn't help that the description also seems rather confusing.

I think this could use a clearer notion of what qualifies as this and what doesn't, whether or not to consider sexual/romantic DTRYOA's a subtrope along with other subtropes, and whether or not to make this into an index (with examples listed being ones that don't belong to the subtropes) or something like that.

I think we should abolish this as a trope and make it an index, since most of the current examples can be placed elsewhere. I've already started the process by moving several of them to pages as varied as A Nazi by Any Other Name, Erotic Eating, Fantastic Racism and Something Else Also Rises.

Too many of the Anime/Manga examples, however, rely on links to scanslations that have likely been taken down by now.

Actually, there is a button to do that, just to the left of "see stale discussion report" at the top of the thread.

Yeah, if the example has no description of what the dead link linked to, then nothing of value is lost by deleting the example.

I read the description and I don't see a problem with it. Its neither long nor confusing.

Cutting the trope is ridiculous. It has over two thousand wicks and just as many inbounds. Its a popular trope.
