That's some serious cart before the horse there. So not only was the film already scrambling to give back story to all the main leaguers they were also going to add MORE CHARACTERS to the mess?
2 Lanterns, Atom, Martian Manhunter...whats next the New Gods and the Female Furies were on the drawing board too?
Darkseid was definitely supposed to made an appearance.
I found the stuff in the link pretty interesting. Too bad (in a way) that the situation turned out like that in the present... I mean that Justice League (2017) has been very meddled. I'm not even sure if I really want to watch the final theatrical WB-mandated version.
If I know Zack Snyder, I know that I watched 300 some years ago and enjoyed it.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"I found 300 super fashy (probably Frank Miller's fault, not Snyder's), but loved Watchmen and liked Sucker Punch. Justice League is one of my favorite DCEU movies, too. Its bad reputation is really unearned. It's a deeply flawed movie, but a charming and entertaining one too.
If you like the idea of a team of DC heroes learning to be buddies and fight a bad guy together, I say check it out.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?If we're doing our takes on Justice League... It was an okay but very flawed movie. If it came out in 2010 it would be one thing, but "being a more flawed and less entertaining version of Avengers 5 years after Avengers came out" did it no favors.
Seriously, I sum up my thoughts on it as "not that much worse than Avengers." Which is kinda damning since if you're playing catch-up, you should be trying to outdo the one you're catching up to.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. That gels with most of the reviews that I have heard, "If this came out in 2008-10 it would be considered better" But it's NOT 2008 anymore the MCU changed the game and raised the bar on Superhero films. JL by all rights had the potential to blow Avengers out of the water but it didn't come close to that
Hoo boy, coming to HBO Max in 2021.
Color me genuinely hyped
My AO3Yeah, zack can be argue many thing but he does know how to compose a scene.
Also that girl that flash save....could be that Iris west?.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"It is. She was confirmed for the film before release, but cut out of the theatrical cut for some reason.
Anyways this looks at the very least something I would like to see. At the very least it looks better than the cut released in theaters. A lot of footage that we didn't see as well.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSome shots were seen in the earlier trailers, but I caught only like two or three bits that actually were in the theatrical version, and that's including the revamped Steppenwolf first emerging from the boom tube. It definitely feels like they made sure the entire trailer was stuff not previously shown.
A few things I noticed: Superman screaming in pain, Flash running in an abstract void (either the speed force or time travel, maybe both), King Atlan blasting parademons away in the first invasion.
@Shadow Wing LG Yeah because Whedon's rewrites were awful. He made a DC version of his ultra quippy Avengers films with worse effects in a Post-Civil War world. People had come to expect better from superhero films.
Find the Light in the DarkI know it was announce a while back but actually seeing the trailer... Frak me sideways this is actually happening.
And, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the use of Hallelujah isn't something Snyder does lightly right? This trailer just might be what saves us from having to remember that damned Watchmen sex scene every time the song plays

The answer is no.
I'd argue every usage of Hallelujah in pop culture works, including here and Shrek.
It's been 3000 years…TBH I didn't even remember it was used in Shrek (and looking it up now that was the John Cale version there).
Actually I associate it most with Scrubs and The West Wing (John Cale and Jeff Buckley respectively).

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyIn reality, the song is used quite often for any sort of "melancholy but triumphant" mood movies and shows are trying to go for. Definitely a lot of Dissonant Serenity, especially when starting with a clear shot of Darkseid.
I think they used the song because this cut is actually happening. I don't know if they will use it in the movie.
And yeah I always associate the song with Shrek.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe first two shots of the trailer (Darkseid and the Hall of Justice) have some rather jarringly obvious CG (and this coming from the guy who didn't notice Cavill's upper lip for quite a while), but I'm certain that's just due to it not being finished yet, what with the pandemic and all affecting everything, and the rest of the effects shown look fine, or at least better comparatively.
But, yeah, I'm pretty excited for this, even if I was never a huge part of the movement while it was going on (since I largely don't hate the theatrical version. I acknowledge it has plenty of flaws but I overall enjoyed watching it).
The one thing I do hope they keep from the theatrical version is the Legion of Doom Sequel Hook, since that has so much potential to be explored in a future film, especially since the MCU has yet to introduce any version of the Masters of Evil. I'm not sure if that was a Whedon thing or if it actually was part of Snyder’s plan, but I'd love to see it play out in some way.
Also I just wanna see Manganiello's Deathstroke in action after he was removed from The Batman.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI think I recall that the "Legion of Doom" tease was a Whedon addition. I know Deathstroke was going to be in Snyder's cut, but I think he may have had different plans for him. I don't think it was a big part though. Probably an alternate Stinger for the film.

Oh, it was? Shame, guess we won't be getting the LOD then. Oh well. Still wanna see Slade get a big role in something, maybe a Titans movie.
Actually, another thing I'll probably miss from the theatrical version? The soundtrack's incorporation of the classic Superman and Batman themes. That definitely doesn't seem like something Zack would keep in. I like the Man of Steel theme and all, but you just can't beat some John Williams.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonJared Leto is appearing as the Joker and Joe Maganiello as Deathstroke.
...is the "Snyder Cut" just him filming an entirely new movie?
Last I heard, they were turning it into a four-episode mini-series. So basically, what was once a two-to-three hour film is being converted to a four-hour narrative.
I'm assuming that's where a good chunk of the $70 million reshoots are being funnelled towards.
They are not using ANY of the Joss Whedon reshoots, which constituted upwards of 40% of the theatrical version. Snyder had his own reshoots in mind before he originally left, but they were looking at the story as one big movie and not as a limited series. There are often scenes that are conceived but discarded because of logistic concerns, you don't film something you know you won't use. With a four hour runtime they are probably trying to fully develop every subplot that would otherwise be truncated if it was a three hour movie.
Sorry. I'll fix it now.
Update: Fixed.
