-Dragonite charges up a moment longer, then releases a Thunderbolt, raking it along the ground towards Maekrite and swinging it from side to side-

Bartholemew: <Hey!> *loses concentration before he can Reflect*

Ryklys: Stay calm, Psychic!

Bartholemew: *Re-directs his pent-up Psychic power to accelerate the Energy Ball back at Forecaster*

Anne: <Agh!> *aggressively tripped up, tanks the attack with a grimace*

Ryklys: And Scald to sender!

-Anne fires a Scald into one of the holes the Grass Knot is emerging from, creating a geyser on Gaia's side-

Proprietor: Why do I bother fixing the floor, every week somebody comes in with a Grass Knot or Dig or Fissure...

Pummelo Stadium

Maekrite watches most of his Poison Stings attacks vanish because of the strength of the Thunderbolt and the Safeguard. Under normal circumstances he'd be perhaps just a bit afraid, but right now he is unusually calm and aware.

Carefully, he walks in a couple of steps and hops to the side to avoid the lightning strike, his ears flattened to reduce the potential impact area. He even takes the time to glare back at the lightning past and then follow its movement with an arc of his neck. By the glint of his eye he observes how beautiful little pebbles are thrown in all directions from the impact point, some of them heading in his direction as the attack follows a zigzagging pattern to chase after him. Suddenly realizing this the Nidorino starts hopping around, carefully, two or three steps at a time to try and keep avoiding the lightning strike.

The Dragonite's attack is too fast however and after having managed to shorten the distance by a couple of meters, Maekrite gets his foreleg grazed by the attack, causing enough pain that the Nidorino stops and takes the rest of the attack.

Maekrite — <...Oooof> — shakes head — <W-What?>

"Maekrite, are you going to listen to me?"

Maekrite lends an ear to Silent, not exactly sure about what is going on.

"Ice Beam! Fire an Ice Beam! Try to build some damage up before that dragon knocks you down out!"

Maekrite — <Oh, right... wow... let's see...>

Maekrite runs at the Dragonite, growling, and then manages to fire an Ice Beam aimed right at the Dragonite's belly.

Portales: <Oh, okay...> -floats lower to the ground and starts snapping a couple more pictures-

Pummelo

Dragonite: <NO! HAXPOWER ACTI-> -blasted by Ice Beam, noms Yache Berry to lower the damage but still takes a hefty hit- <ARGHRAEG> -charges up energy... and fires a MASSIVE Hyper Beam down onto Maekrite- <YOU IRK ME, PATHETIC POISON RABBIT!>

Forecaster: <Eep!> -Fires another Energy Ball to cancel out the one shot back at her-

Wasn't expecting that one.

Gaia, use Seed Bomb this time, while you use Thunderbolt, Forecaster!

-Gaia lobs seeds at Anne, while Forecaster sends a lightning bolt at Bartholomew-

Algira has been snuggling (and only snuggling!) with Helios for the entire day, apparently, considering the pacing of the events outside.

She detaches from the Volcarona and flies back to her tree.

Algira — <Helios I need to go back... I guess I'm going to be needed on the battlefield...> — flashes worried patterns — <Anything you want to tell me before I try to leave?>

Pummelo Stadium

"Oh f-"

Dragonite attacks with an Hyper Beam, and Maekrite can only turn to the side to take the attack. Roaring in pain, he is pushed by the beam and falls to the ground near the pool.

Maekrite — <...Agggghhh... *cough* ooof...> — shakes violently.

Maekrite absorbs some health from the Black Sludge, but looks obviously in pain.

"Darn... Want me to recall you?"

Maekrite — <I-I could use a rest, yeah...> — stands up — <But who else can tackle on that thing?>

"Hmmm... that Safeguard is going to fade soon and Dragonite is forced to recharge... we are taking this turn, then you are out, hear me? I'll have to try something different."

Maekrite turns to Silent and nods. He shakes and bristles up, shaking some dirt and poison off himself.

"Go to the rocks and fire another Ice Beam. This time he won't be able to blunt the damage."

Maekrite — <Yeah... that thing is gonna pay...>

Maekrite dashes to the nearest rocks and jumps from rock to rock looking for a safe spot. After finding it, he leaps and fires the Ice Beam in mid-air, faling back to hsi safe spot.

Goldenrod Research Wing Lounge.

Inka -stares in disbelief. — <Th-Th-That thing HYPER BEAMED MY KIT!!!!> — grabs Baluarkos again. — <   Why aren't you there????   >

Baluarkos -too shaken to focus — <B-B-B-B-B-uy at Cali-i-i-i-no's.... @_@> — faints.

The kits stare at their dad and group each other near the windows, as far as they can from Inka and the TV.

Inka leaps from the half-couch and digs her claws on the speakers of the TV, starting to shake it.

Inka — <Come on Maekrite! Don't let that thing treat you like a Pokédoll!!!> — shakes the TV a lot — <   HORN ATTACK IT IN THE NUTS!!!!   >

Pummelo

Dragonite: <COLD COLD COLD C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-COOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!!>-heats up its internal pyrosac to warm up and lessen the injury, but it is still reduced to the deep red- <Ow...oh, you're going to pay.> -blasts a Flamethrower at Maekrite- <RRRAAAAAGGGGH!>

Seashore House

-Anne fires an Ice Beam at Gaia, but is hit by the Seed Bomb-

Anne: <Ahhh!> *faints*

Bartholomew: <Grg...> *is knocked into the red, and paralyzed*

Ryklys: Grr, Bartholomew, rotational Psychic on the Castform!>

Bartholomew: <Egh...> *focuses enough to start spinning Forecaster at high speed*

-Ryklys calls on Read to replace Anne-

Forecaster: -Is gettting spun around by the Psychic <Whoa, everything's all spinny and-Notices Read-I'm not fainting until I've beaten you!>

Gaia: -Gets brought down to the high yellow by the Ice Beam, saved only by a Yache Berry- <I hate the cold...>

-Fires an Overgrow boosted Seed Bomb at Bartholemew while Forecaster attempts to use another Energy Ball-

Helios: <Um, good luck?>

Pummelo Island

"....HAX!!!! Endure it, Maekrite!"

Maekrite partially covers himself behind a rock and Endures the flamethrower attack. Weakened and destabilized due to the Worry Seed, he is pushed to the very bottom percentage of HP.

Maekrite — <Ugh... can... can't continue...>

He absorbs a slight amount of health from the Black Sludge, not it's barely enough to allow him to stand up.

"Time to try something different, that Dragonite is severely weakened and I think I have an idea..." Silent turns to Maekrite. "Sorry, kit, I know how much it meant for you."

Maekrite — <I'll be happy if we win it...>

Silent points the Moon Ball and recalls Maekrite. He picks Dintel's Pokéball but after some hesitation and observation of the Dragonite, he relents and sends out [Shahinne the Starly♀] with a Sharp Beak.

Shahinne — <...Oh? Too much noise!> — turns to see the Dragonite — <Eeeeep!> — hops back closer to Silent.

"Don't be afraid, Shahinne. Look, that Pokémon has been very unnice to the team."

Shahinne -chirps nervously — <I know... sensed him... it's derpy...>

"You go and give him some good pecks, right?"

Shahinne puts up a serious face (still :3 though) and turns to face the Dragonite.

Dream World

Algira smilebuzzes at Helios.

Algira — <You go wake up... I'm gonna need your support, please?> — smooches him.

After that she returns to the base of her tree and waves a goodbye to Helios with her antennæ.

After seeing Maekrite get recalled, Inka stares in front of the TV and does the closest thing an angry Nidorina can to a Hammer Arm, pretty much flattening the TV.

Inka — <RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR> — starts pacing around, realizing that she now can't watch the rest of the battle.

Pummelo Stadium

"Shahinne, stay right there. No, just a couple of steps ahead please."

Shahinne very cautiously hops ahead, trying to not look scared at the sight of the Dragonite.

"Shahinne, Double Team into a Secret Power."

Shahinne hops around, batting her wings; two more Shahinne images appear.

Shahinnes — <Eeeeee~ This move I like!>

The Shahinnes spread around and start collecting energy. The one standing near the pond starts glowing blue, while the other two, standing on the rocks, start glowing brown. After collecting some energy, the three of them take off on different directions and start diving at the Dragonite.

Dragonite: <Oh. Ow. I am in such pain right now. Oh, the indescribability of it all.>

<...>

-charges up a Thunderbolt and brings it down on what had better be a copy-

Ryklys: Cloud them with Muddy Water!

Read: <What's your problem?> *Fires an opaque wave of water at Gaia and Forecaster, but especially Forecaster*

-the water refracts the Energy Ball away from Read-

Bartholomew: *paralyzed* <Ah...> *faints*

Malley: *not actually fainted* <Mom, don't say a word.>

Grace: *Sent in* <Five words, then- find a better Slowpoke, hon.>

-Grace fires a Skill-Linked barrage of Icicle Spears at Gaia-

PHEWWWW!!! I'm not gonna be gored by Aunt Salamence!

The Shahinnes divebomb at Dragonite, and one of them screams in terror as a Thunderbolt flies at her.

Shahinne #1 (Rock) — <....Daddy~> — is blown away by the thunderbolt.

Shahinne #2, #3 — <Eeeeep! Mean dragon!>

The two Shahinnes swoop in and each one hits one of the Dragon's legs. However, upon contact the water Shahinne vanishes as well, revealing the third Shahinne to be the real one. As she impacts on Dragonite's leg, the rock-type eenergy released causes some nearby pebbles and rocks to erupt from the ground aimed at the Dragonite.

"Come on, Shahinne! Fly away! Fly away!"

Her task done, Shahinne swoops in back to the pool, and stands on one of the nearby rocks.

Algira's Pokéball shakes.

Dragonite: -eyetwitch- <ANGER!> -launches another Thunderbolt whip-attack-

It's long, but I hope it's good. I kind of got on a roll.

-comes across a group of people gathered around some monitors-

<What's this?>

-the people appear to be playing some sort of video game. A banner above the area reads "J-Team vs. Capcom"-

<We have a fighting game based on us?>

Excuse me? -taps a Gamer cosplayer on the shoulder-

Gamer Cosplayer: -turns around, and is actually a girl- Yes?

-makes a mental note of something- Nice costume. Mind if I take a picture?

Gamer Cosplayer: Sure! -strikes a pose and smiles-

-snaps a picture on my Pokegear, and reminds myself to show Gamer later- So, what's going on here?

Gamer Cosplayer: -jaw drops- You mean you haven't played J-Team vs. Capcom yet? You have to go next. -escorts me to the nearest monitor-

-as she leads me over there- There's a J-Team video game?

Gamer Cosplayer: Pff, where have you been? You must be new to the fandom. There are about five. JTvC is probably the best, though. It's based on the TV series.

Gamer Cosplayer: Jeez, what part of the fandom do you belong to? Nice Wolf outfit, by the way. The jacket's kind of off, though.

Gamer Cosplayer: Cool. Me too. I used to be a hardcore Mezzolf fan, and shipped DS with Pentigan, but ever since the Red Ranger showed up, I much prefer pairing Mezzo with them.

-before I get a chance to ask what that means, it's my turn-

-I stare at the character select screen, wondering who I should pick. Obviously someone from our side of things. Got to represent, after all.-

<Hey! They remembered to include Slouch!> -goes to pick him-

Opponent: Hey! What do you think you're doing?

Huh?

Opponent: Slouch is banned in competitive play. The dude is way overpowered.

Oh...I didn't know. -picks myself instead-

Gamer Cosplayer: What are you doing? I get that he's obviously your favourite and all, but Wolf is terrible in this game. The latest patch totally nerfed him.

Opponent: Snrk. -picks Anom- Okay, let's do this!

-I put up a valiant effort, even taking a round, but Anom's change-up playstyle, where his entire moveset can be changed by flipping between two hair colours is no match for Wolf's kick-based gameplay-

Opponent: Good game, dude. You put up a way better fight than I expected from a Wolf player.

-watches a few more matches, the Gamer Cosplayer giving me the play-by-play, and explaining some of the more advanced mechanics to me, as well as directing me to a booth where I can buy the first season of the show on DVD-
