Kec sees the Air Cutter fly towards both himself and Kit, and dives in the way of the fox pokemon, taking the brunt of both attacks.
Kit: Kec!
Kec: I'm fine. Your Snarl took some of the sting out of that, and my defences are good anyway.
Kit nods and steps back. Kec looks up and sees Rowen diving towards him, surrounded by arrows.
Hoops: Kec, quickly use Slash!
Kec begins to turn back to his natural colour, but he is too slow. Rowen slams into him, and a moment later the arrows land around him, causing an explosion.
Hoops and Kit: Kec!
The smoke clears, revealing Kec, seemingly injured but still standing. The ground around him is dotted with ghostly arrows that are fading fast, and he had seemingly avoided them. Then he looks down and sees the patch on his stomach that is still a ghostly purple, an arrow sticking out.
Kec: Oh.
Then he keels over, unconscious.

A serious, joyless-looking young man sits just outside. He is 14-ish, has dark hair with green roots, and is impeccably dressed in a clean-pressed school uniform. Clearly very wealthy, and not very excitable. He's reading the financial pages of a newspaper. Beside him is an umbreon with a collar.
He appears to be waiting for someone.

-and on this Tropius is an impeccably-dressed young woman, early-twenties-ish, severe in dark shades, a black trench coat, and an expression verging on dour—and a well-cared-for bush of green hair in similar hue to the young man's roots-
-she unhooks a long white cane in preparation to dismount-
Abilene: -sounding vaguely amused- You called, cousin?

Gaspard: Ah, cousin Abilene. Impeccable timing as always, and a marked improvement in your dynamic entry. Time grows short and my patience shorter.
His Umbreon, Lamarck, begins to speak through her translator collar.
Lamarck: We've not much time to explain, your grace. The young master's honour has been insulted, and as such the entirety of the Macraul clan.
Gaspard: Johnson and his cronies have wronged me for the last time. They've stolen something of immense value from me, a collectible of such rarity that I had to bid thrice as high to secure it. It on top of their constant mocking, attempts at physical assault, and their repeated attempts to pin all aggression on me. I, alas, cannot afford to outsource my revenge at this time.
Lamarck: The price of undercover assassins in this economy are positively criminal.
Gaspard: Mother and Father, of course, are preoccupied at the moment, and I am alas under-equipped to take back what is mine without assistance. I'd have called grandmother, but reprobates like Johnson's ilk deserve a less dignified punishment. Fortunately, Lamarck has informed me of your whereabouts.
Lamarck: They shouldn't be far.

Me: Well, don't give up, Hanuman! Use Flamethrower!
-In that moment, Hanuman felt his fiery determination flare up and the flame of his tail grow significantly, as an aura like scarlet fire envelops him.-
-Hanuman, keeping his cool under the strain of battle, spits out an almost-laserlike stream of fire at Dio with increased power.-

(Dave is knocking down tree after tree, and eventually comes to one particularly tall tree. He growls, and attempts to knock it down with Tackle, but it doesn't budge one bit. He tries again, and it barely moves. He tries again, and it barely moves again.)
Dave: <COME ON YA BLITHERING EEJIT TREE! WOT THE BLOODY 'ELL'S WRONG WIT YA?! LEG IT, WHY DON'T YA?! ROOT IT, RATHER, YER A BLOODY TREE!>

Kim: "Indeed they would. Just as soon as I catch a Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, I can get a Key Stone... and then a Mega Stone."

(Kaylan and Sinatra, upon seeing Blaze, look on in shock, remembering what happened the last time Blaze was activated.)
Kaylan: <Dio! Watch out! That's Blaze!>

(Dio hears them and turns to face them.)
Dio: <Ah, don't worry! I've got this!>
(He crosses his claws in front of the Flamethrower move, shielding himself from the powerful attack, before suddenly unleashing an X-Scissor move which dispels the flames and heads straight for Hanuman.)

They run onto the pitch and pick up their small partner. He isn't hurt too badly, and his trainer knows he'll recover with some rest. They bring him back to their end of the pitch and set him down.
Hoops: Kit, are you still okay to fight?
Kit: I am. But I don't think I can win against this.
Hoops: We don't use that language. We don't accept defeat until we've lost. We'll take every inch we can.
Kit: Right! Let's do it!
Hoops: Alright. Kit, use Foul Play on Decidueye!

(He crashes his head directly into the tree, and within seconds it falls to the floor. Dave grins in satisfaction.)

-In asking that question, Oshawittle and Mothra appear from behind Ian and, as according to keikaku* , Oshawittle fires a beam of subzero energy into the cup, filling it with ice. Mothra then summons up a low flame below the cup to melt the ice into water and warm it to a desirable temperature.-

(Kim notices.)
Kim: "Dio! Look out!"
Dio: (suddenly turning) <H-huh?!>
(He notices Hanuman coming at him full force with a Flame Wheel and almost immediately dodges out of the way of it. Kim grins.)
Kim: "Good! Now use Quick Attack!"
(Dio nods, and immediately speeds up before charging at Hanuman at full power.)
The Pen's grin grew wider, Hey whatever you're facing. I'm facing, the deal was to just show me excitement and I'd dare say you're doing a great job.
It laughed, Arceus imagine what the inevitable boarding team will look like to the Mons of this universe, just the powers of Sans and Jevil, and the Doom Slayer entering their ship should be enough to cause them to panic.
Ziltoid frowned at Shutter's statements, ~I will leave you with a copy of Tiedrich's address to the Federation assembly. For now we need to focus.~
Roxy nodded, "What upgrades are you giving to the ship?"
~I was informed that Silas has some experience in space combat from another universe. It's not starfighters zipping around in this one, ships remain at a distance and take aim and fire their weapons at each other, dodging what they can but preferring to defend themselves with shields.~

~Your ship will be getting tier 1 upgrades, Your hull plating is quite fine, no worse off than what your ship will be considered, an antique. You will get a basic Jump Drive, this will allow you to traverse the Beacon Network, a Tier 1 Shield which gives you a single layer of protection, and Tier 1 thrusters which will allow your ship to actually navigate faster than yours does now. Your installed Weapons are also pretty good for what you'll be facing.~
"Why tier 1?" Silas asked, "If we're risking our asses shouldn't we get better?"
~Normally, yes, unfortunately I can't provide you with those as A) I'd get recognized and B) the rest of my commune has them.~

Upstairs, the grunts who managed to barricade themselves against the roving robot luxray are in a state of increasing panic, and the waiters and executives are getting very antsy.
Deep inside his supply closet, the leader of the Embers massages his temples in a vain attempt to calm himself down. Just earlier, he was this close to having the one thing Constantin had failed to acquire. This would've been the biggest bargaining chip he had. Had the mission been a success, Neo-Flare would be forced to see the Embers as an equal inheritor to the Flare Legacy.
Things weren't looking up, and apparently, Malacostra has left them empty handed. Certainly things couldn't get any worse. There's got to be a way to salvage this situation.
He turned to one of the grunts.
Ember Leader: Unfurl the banners. Let them know that we still control this building. It's about time we showed them what we're prepared to do.
The grunts did as they were told. It was a hollow gesture, of course. They knew the jig was up, even if their leader remained in denial. If nothing else, though, the threat they unleash on the Orochi leadership can at least grant them an escape.
Grunt: Uh, sir, you might want to look at the outside feed.
Ember Leader: Ugh, what is it now.
He looks at a nearby monitor chronicling the situation. The banners took him by surprise. They weren't Team Flare banners. They were the banners of the Cab Driver's Union.
Ember Leader: Son of a bitch, we've been played.

Gaspard leads his cousin and her team to a rather narrow alleyway not far from a retail street. Johnson and his posse of obnoxious looking posh rich kids wandered in.
Gaspard: There they are. Terrence Johnson has been my arch rival since I first attended the school. He and his family claim to be time-honoured nobles, but I see no honour in that smug Galarian face. Nothing would make me happier than to break him. His crimes against me are many and varied. He once hacked into my Fortnite account. He vandalised my [Minecraft] server's perfect reconstruction of Lumiose City. He gave me a wedgie, then had me sent to detention after I did the appropriate response and punched him multiple times in the face. He left a negative review on my favourite Web show. He is vile.
Meanwhile, Johnson breaks away from his group. He was playing with a shiny gold superhero action figure
Gaspard: Grandmother will certainly not enjoy his… flavour.
Lamarck: It appears that Terrence had taken Mister Ferrometal out of the box.
Gaspard: That fiend. End him.

Shutter nods, tacitly agreeing to view the image at a later time. There was little else he could do. His companions were rather eager, almost as if they felt like they're with kindred spirits. And Silas and his crew were at least people from his universe. They weren't just his ticket out of this predicament. They were his last semblance of normalcy.
About as normal as things will allow, anyway.
Phineas: He's willing to prove it, Herr Albright. Is that not proof enough that we're on the right side of this universe's history?
Shutter: The way I see it, I don't have much of a choice.
