Priscilla: Oh, so you're a country boy. Jon is as well.

Jonathan: I grew up in a cabin in a ranch near the reservation for the [Wyandot] people up north. We raised bouffalant for the cheese industry.

Priscilla: As for me, there hasn't been a humble origin story in my family in years since my great great grandfather. He had to build his fortune from scratch with a lot of disappointing false starts. My family kept telling us his story so we don't ever take our good fortune for granted. It also helped me cultivate this bean counter approach to money. It isn't the amount of money, after all, it's how well you use it.

She took a bite at a pizza slice, then continued once she was done.

Priscilla: Well, I grew up around houses kinda like this, and then I went to college. Y'know, typical modern princess stuff. I was good with numbers so I took up accounting and later business law, though I never took the bar exam. Eventually, my brother Henry and I both took jobs outside my dad's holdings so we wouldn't have to ride our dad's coattails. I got this gig at PEFE, he got his at Best Berry.

Jonathan: Just try to find a business or charity in this city not partially owned by Big Henry Kwan.

Priscilla: It took a very long time. Even dad doesn't know nearly half of what we own. PEFE being a nonprofit was one of the easier choices, and given how much it functions like a corporation it's good job experience, too. You know that memo that tells J-Teamers what Dr. Tagg is or isn't willing to fund? We showed him the numbers for those. Healthcare yes, panini makers and cereal no.

Pris' Apartment

Lita chuckled a little.

"Cereal and panini makers? Really? Heheh."

Des gave Jon a glance.

"Good to know I have a kindred spirit in you."

He turned back to Pris.

"That's quite a life. You got a good head on your shoulders to. I don't think I need to tell you there are plenty of people in your position who would abuse your influence and wealth to cause harm. I feel lucky to be in the presence of Zubatman, sans the spandex of course."

He scarfed down a slice and grabbed another.

"Did you meet the J-team through PEFE or through other circumstances?"

Priscilla's Apartment

Priscilla: Well, that's good to know. I'm nothing like my brother in that regard. He entered this law fraternity one day and we've had a massive falling out ever since.

She scarfed down another slice.

Priscilla: I first started working in the PEFE accounting and portfolio management department a little over 4 years ago as the successor to the previous head accountant. I've largely worked behind the scenes at the office in Saffron City, though I do meet with the higher ups and the J-Team from time to time, often when it came time to tabulate how much money PEFE had to pay in damages.

Pris' Apartment

Lita crossed her arms. "Your brother sounds like a real piece of work." She gives Pris a coy smile. "You on the other hand seem to have beauty and brains."

Ded facepalms.

"Lita just...do you have to hit on my colleagues? Anyways, I don't envy your job. I guess an adventure is good for you every now and then. We should bring you on one of our catching trips."

Priscilla's Apartment

Priscilla, flirting right back: Thanks.

Jonathan: Isn't she?

Unlike before, Jon seems a bit less apprehensive of Pris' flirting with Lita.

Priscilla: And yes. Henry's a contemptible grimer trail, and I say this with apologies to grimers. We recently found out that he's trying to recover seized pokémon abused by one of his company's subsidiaries. Those were seized by the police and adopted off to capable families. To say nothing of how he sees people he sees as below him.

Jonathan: I've known Pris for a very long time now and I've had the misfortune of being belittled and mocked by that privileged dumbass.

Priscilla: We've informed the authorities and key J-Team affiliates who could help, but knowing how these corrupt corporate types work sometimes the only way to make them stop is to directly interfere. A lot cheaper, too. I crunched the numbers on suing Paul Macraul for his actions against Dr. Tagg, and it'll set our budget back big time.

Jon chomps on a pizza slice.

Priscilla: Oh, a trip to the wilderness would be lovely. I'd love to come when I'm not busy.

Alyesha: "They argued so often with me about that before they allowed me - in their defense I was 12 at that point"

At that point, Alyesha made a Hand Behind Head motion

Alyesha: "But hey... in the end they allowed me, that's all that counts."

With that, she turned to the prints, eyes again gettin wide

Alyesha: "Wait, they're all from you? I think I recognise some of them from the magazine!"

As she heard how those came to be, Alyesha chuckled slightly

Alyesha: "That's certainly a way of getting a job, congrats on that"

Cafe, Past

Ishtar: ...I should find some. In this new world.

Julius: Same, aside from the Pokemon Trainer thing. It doesn't help that Robin won't let me use that Internet thing.

Julius: Mightyena, huh...

A Deliberd would land outside Kai's apartment and put down a package just listed as "Jackal", before leaving.

The box was small, looked big enough to hold a tablet in it.

-Kai sees the delivery, and gives a small, sly smile to nobody in particular as they open it up.-

She stared at her end of the gallery and can't help but feel accomplished after Alyesha heaped praises on her published work.

Murphy: You've got mail.

Priscilla: Oh, this seems serious.

Murphy: Should we suit up?

Priscilla: Let's use the new armor. I just had old reliable waxed.

Murphy: You had it waxed professionally?

Priscilla: What are you talking about? I waxed it. By hand. I do maintenance on all my superhero equipment personally unless I can find a way to make it seem mundane.

-Shaun sits in a corner, hood down, masks off. He's tinkering on his wrist-mounted crossbows.-

Shaun: "So, uh, my kyoketsu-shoge kinda...broke. Which, I mean, I don't really need it. I have hookshots and I can fight with my fists. I was gonna ask Isbrand to work on something for me but I couldn't find her."

-Jessica lifts her head from the table, bedhead hair muted.-

Jessica: "Should we be worried?"

-Midna floats in and hands Jessica what appears to be a water jug full of [Java Monster].-

Midna: <She can take care of herself.>

Alyesha had to laugh warmly at that, shaking her head

Alyesha: "Oh, I don't see it as a business to be honest, I just enjoy cooking and seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they eat my food - and yes, I'm fully aware that this must sound cliché as hell. Plus, I enjoy listening to the stories of the people who visit my cart~"

She grinned, making another Hand Behind Head motion

Alyesha: "And let me tell you this, you're working with some of the best because you are one of the best~"

She looked at the prints again

Alyesha: "... I think I'll buy another one~"

Taipan arrives in glistening clean armor.

Taipan: What's the sitch?

Flash: Much obliged. We'll be here for a few more days. We'd love to eat at your cart to return the favor.

Lamb was present in full getup, sitting less-then-attentively as evidenced by the little flares she had around her palm.

In it was a holographic player, and a note that read, "Sorry! I really tried to just get him to text you like a normal person! - Hacks"

The player klicked to life and standing before Kai was a flickering Jackal, ready, and in the voice of Silas it said, "Wake the fuck up, Avenger... We have a city to burn."

The player fizzled as the hologram became just text, "The Aurabolts call on the Avenger" before it finally died.

Clearly nothing here was done in half measures, hence the apology note.

Flash could see Alyesha's eyes pretty much begin to sparkle at that, with her nodding instantly

Alyesha: "I've currently set up camp in front of the Pokémon Center~ I'd love to cook for you all~"

-This text is sent as Jak pulls away from her close entanglement with Mihkalov, glancing down at the notification on her phone with a small frown.-

Jak: Awww, dammit, my shift's about to start. Sorry, Nat, looks like we're gonna have to pick this up later. See ya in a few hours!

-She gives Mihkalov a peck on the cheek and heads out of the locker room, typing out a message on her phone as she goes.-

Kai's Apartment

-Kai's grin widens.-

Kai: There's no way I'm missing this. Myra? Get set up to monitor the new Avenger suit.

Myra: Getting everything in order!

Kai: Perfect. Now just to set up the dramatic entrance.

Daisy: Yes... Well, I ought to catch up with my family. I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hideout of Gluttony

As the group approaches the more heavily guarded area, they might see that it shifts from a hideout to a soft, plush playroom. A plushie Guard is standing guard at the entrance, unfortunately, they might need to find a way to distract it if they want to scope out the playroom.

No Mightyena things have been nearby but there Is a Poochyena statue down near here.

Fuchsia Café

-Elizabeth starts rattling hobbies off on her fingers.-

Elizabeth: "Cooking, singing, dancing, playing an instrument, sewing, arts in general, crying yourself to sleep-"

-She stops.-

Elizabeth: "Not that last one. Uh...well I don't know what else you could do. Gardening?"

An unmasked Stranger is here. He sees a disheveled Nightingale come in and gives her a smile, before it turns to a more neutral look.

"Is there a meeting? I wasn't notified."

...The Alakagross surface cities tended to have buildings like this, though by our time it seems that not even the ruins of them are left, which I suspect was done on purpose by the legendaries as part of their scouring of Alakagross cities, hence their remnants general antipathy towards divine forces.

-Looking at a crude drawing of some sort of spaceship-

Considering the fact that they were capable of space travel, as we learned back in 2015 during the Third Glitch Crisis and Loki's Incursion, I've wondered if there might be Alakagross colonies elsewhere in the galaxy that might've escaped destruction, but I suspect the concept of pain of death via legendary has dampened any thoughts of returning to Earth.

Tyto: <Wait, so why are we going over this again?>

As a side effect of this current hole in the sky there's been a bump in people going into the study of extra-dimensional phenomena, last time I saw a bump was in 2013 shortly after we stopped the Dream Rifts.
