This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Wonder how Mephisto will buy it.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. In Superior Spider-Man #10, there’s this great little moment where Otto takes Emma swinging around the city, and gives us this gem:
The fact that he disliked webslinging at first is really funny to me. It’s like one of the most fun things about the character, so of course he would hate it!

It's also how Peter travels so naturally it will take Otto some getting used to.
I found a walkthrough of that Spider-Man vs Kingpin Sega CD game. It seems pretty close to the comics at the time; Peter and MJ are married and the city trusts Spider-Man...at least until Kingpin ruins things by being a Villain with Good Publicity. (In the Genesis version you could even take photos to sell to the Bugle and earn money for web fluid!)
Also the music is epic.

The Protomen enhanced my life. The game's plot was apparently written by Steve Englehart of Batman fame.
I’m convinced that comic book weddings are the equivalent of pro wrestling weddings. Unless someone interrupts with a shocking swerve it doesn’t feel right.
With everything Englehart has written, I’ve never heard him described as the Batman guy
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhat made the ASM Annual 21 unique was that nothing dramatic happened there. The wedding just happened.
....seriously?
There was no fight at all?
...but....it's a comic book wedding....like you said, Comic book and Wrestling weddings always go pear shaped.
Damn, the Parker luck actually took a break on that one.
One Strip! One Strip! There was a fight at the start of the issue but that was days before the weddng, and Peter was mopey but aside from that the wedding happened as planned.
The Wedding Annual has a bad reputation mostly because of behind the scenes issues but it's actually a pretty excellent issue. And the wedding vows, by David Michelinie is pretty great.
Quesada wrote a Hate Fic in OMIT and as I said it's a serious problem for OMD/OMIT that the wedding issue is better qualitatively then their attempt to undo it. Because if they were right that the marriage wasn't suited to Peter, then their stories undoing it should be better and more representative than the one that married our boy.
You know the wedding in the newspaper strip played for some drama. In that one there, Peter and MJ were about to get married but Peter heard a robbery. MJ told him she'll wait, just go and solve it. Peter steps out an then sees the cops handling it, and gets back and hitched on time.
The wedding of Donna Troy and Terry Long in Teen Titans didn’t get super-villains interrupted
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhich, considering the feelings people have towards Terry Long, is probably considered a bad thing.
One Strip! One Strip! If people had the right objection to Terry Long I’d understand but most people had a problem with Terry being “boring” aka a superpowered woman dating a not super powered man
Which is a trend in comics, fandom reacts more negatively to that then when the same situation happens with a superpower guy dating a not super powered woman
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDiana and Steve Trevor might be an exception especially after the Patty Jenkins movie and Chris Pine's performance. That movie sank the Superman/Wondy ship. I always thought that relationship was a mistake mostly because it reduced Wonder Woman into second place in Superman's corner rather than heroine in her own right.
In general, with select exceptions, I think most superheroes work best dating civilians. Mr. Miracle and Big Barda is the major exception I can think of.
Titania and the Absorbing Man had a supervillain wedding that got interrupted by the heroes, and when they found out what was really going on they just left sheepishly.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I’d like to read that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."“Aw shit, we did the thing that gets done to us.”
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt was from Avengers Unplugged #4. From what I can tell it's the only noteworthy thing about that series.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Absorbing Man and Titania are part of Team Hulk in Al Ewing's Immortal Hulk series.
I find it funny how Spider-Man: Chapter One had Norman Osborn and the Sandman be related because of the similar hair style. That's like having Crusher Hogan be related to the Kingpin because they're both bald XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I can't believe that Doctor Doom is related to Louis XIV
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBelieve it or not, that wasn't even the first time he made two characters related because of their hair.
He was one of the main forces in making Magneto the father of Pietro and Wanda. Because of Magneto's and Quiksilver's hair. He saw that they had similar white hair and he (alongside Steven Grant) approached Gruenwald for a story revealing him as being their father.
Ultimate Ego the Living Planet◊
Forever liveblogging the Avengersdo I want to know the context to that?
Black Cat Annual#1 teases a wedding
