Well, yeah. I'd assume that's where things like Most Fanfic Writers Are Female come from (incidentally, the picture for Perverse Sexual Lust is of two girls ogling(?) a Kamina board). The thing is there seems to be far less (reported) incidents involving women lusting after fictional characters.

No, it's misogyny when the reasoning seems to stem from a hatred of real women. The basic implications of people who prefer 2D girls is the (misguided) belief that these girls will like and accept the luster. The "appeal" is just a want of someone who dotes over him like he sees in anime/manga/whatnot and not an actual person *.

After reading this thread and seeing the kind of people that this sort of problem would effect I've decided there is no negative effect on society and that the people with their fictional wives are doing us a favor and cutting their re-productive matter out of the gene pool.

I'm just wondering. What are your opinions regarding the relationship between misogyny and attraction to 2D girls? Is misogyny caused by attraction to 2d girls or vice-versa?
I think I did something last night...
I think the rationale here is that guys who are into 2D girls are into a kind of submissive women who tends to his every whim and not resist or make any demand in return. Kind of like a slave in both the labor sense and the sexual sense. Of course, this is the rationale dran out by psychologists, but it is easy (and indeed makes sense) that some of the dudes who are into 2D girls are not like that. Or so they may claim.

It could go either way in my opinion. Misogyny leading to like for 2D girls would be like those guys I was talking to. The other way around would be someone who just so happens to be already into 2D girls, and then they're hit by the harsh reality of real women.

And another thing I cannot stress enough - PSL does not cause misogyny. Lack of respect for women had existed since the time the tribal society was disbanded and matriachy was replaced by patriachy, long, long ago. And I doubt it would go away any time now.
Let's take a look at this example from the Byzantine Empire (I am out of left field here, but I just wanna toss this in)
