Refreshing problems.

Well, I have this problem, too, and I can only hope it gets fixed soon, since some threads simply will not let me post at all.

I keep finding that my posts are no longer appearing in certain threads, with the problems clearing up when the thread moves on to a new page.

Looking at the page source, there's a hidden postid value. I wonder if editing that could fix something, temporarily at least?

EDIT TO ADD: When posting fails, it sends me back to the last post in the thread. Huh.

Another edit: Replacing postid with gibberish lets me post. Bizarre.

I keep having this same problem. Whenever I go to a thread, it brings me to the same post over and over again.

Pressing "mark all as read" doesn't fix this.

That's because you're using an old version of the forum index, which includes an outdated jump-to-post link. Ctrl-F5.

So, I did Ctrl-F5 on the main forum page, after i checked in here. Go back to this thread, takes me right back to th-

Oh wait. Duh, of course it would do that. Nevermind the stupidity here...

Huh? I just tried posting here, after doing Ctrl-F5. Seems my post went into the aether and got lost.

Okay - NOW I see it... Doubleposting for the win.

For the time being, the easiest way to deal with things is to refresh before and after every action you take.

Give it a shot now. Don't know why, but the inter-server cache decided to start un-expiring stuff all by its madrobot self. I spoke to it sternly and it seems to be behaving, now.

Yes. Any page you have been to today needs to be refreshed at least once to make the fix work.

I think it's working for me now.

Here's a cute thing. addpost.php appears to be affected by this, which is why some posts are "disappearing". If you have posted in a thread already today, the version of addpost that you cached for that thread will stick around until forced to reload. The anti-doubleposting code will consequently think it's a dupe and discard it. Moral: if you see an outdated bulletin box on addpost, force refresh it before you try to post anything.

My new PM alert still won't go away.
