Given that the idea behind Rule 34 is that there is porn of everything, I am not sure we need examples at all. Just having a more in depth explanation of the concept should be sufficient.

I get suspicious whenever people try to put their own Real Life examples of tropes like Five-Man Band. It starts to confuse literary shorthands with how much more complicated reality is. Ensembles are rarely as dynamic as seen in fiction, as most people hang around each other because of similar interests. In a real life situation (like, say, a battlefield scenario) the smart guy and the hero rarely meet or are part of a much larger team.
But yeah, in general Troper Tales is for events that happen in a tropers life that seems similar to a particular trope. It still isn't a place to blog about your life or opinions and it's generally a good idea to keep troper tales away from tropes like Hollywood Atheist.
The purpose of Troper Tales is to provide a place to leech off "all about me" stories from the main articles. Some people also enjoy reading them, I guess. If the Troper Tales page is causing more hassle than it is curing, it's cut and locked.
"More hassle" is defined as attracting edit wars or porn-ish entries or complaints of any kind that detract energy from doing what the wiki was really built for. In short, they are here on sufferance, and not much of that.

But there remains the question: does or doesn't dumping whole example sections into Troper Tales via Example Sectionectomy encourage abuse?

And it shouldn't happen even then. We have namespaces for things that don't go in Main. Troper Tales is not an opinion dump. It is for a specific kind of entry. Tales tropers tell about themselves.
Most opinion stuff can go into YMMV, I think.

We did have a couple of editors who decided that rather than bother to make a YMMV page for subjective tropes or cleanup the examples, that they would just moved them all to Troper Tales wholesale. I'm pretty sure they all are edit-banned now.

I had a question on basically the topic name, what is Troper Tales for? For example, could an interactive work, such as a video game, have a Troper Tales page? Or should that kind of discussion stay in the forums in the appropriate section (in this case, video games)?

Troper Tales is for people to talk about how Life Imitates Art, that is, how tropes appear in their own lives. By definition, works can't have these. The forums are indeed the best place for discussion of works.

Since Rule 34 is about porn of everything, I think it would be kind of moot to even list examples on there, other than a giant list of things that does exist that doesn't go into detail, which a troper tale does not make. I guess if it left out things that have genitalia, or are people, it would be okay. Knowing people though, they want to talk about things going into vaginas, so I guess they can list their examples on the Fetishes thread.
As funny as a giant list of weird things would be on the troper tale.

Rule Thirty Four just got terminated, under the presumption was that it was a page about Rule 34 of contributors (as usual, Fast Eddie gave no reason of his own). Actually, not many of the actual examples were tropers talking about themselves. What seems to have happened is an Example Sectionectomy that dumped all the original examples on Troper Tales, because they were too subjective for the main wiki. This kind of thing happens a lot, but the subsequent deletion of the page shows one reason I think it's a bad idea. Most amusing is that the main page still states in its "no examples" paragraph, "We have a Troper Tales page for this kind of thing for a reason, you know." No, we don't. Not anymore.
