People paid for Mii costumes. Echoes are a fair deal more attractive, specially if they come in bundles (either Echo bundles or alongside an original character).
I'd be more surprised if anyone doesn't pay for them, regardless of how much they whine about it first.
I don't think DLC Echo Fighters should cost as much as DLC fully-fledged characters. They should cost somewhere in-between what Mii Costumes and Characters do.

Incineroar is likely to come because of Vergeben and that Pokemon has a new rep every game. It makes sense to go by one in Gen VII.
Get ready to play as Cosmog.
I have a message from another time...They could have a Echo fighter for the Pokemon trainer who uses Decidueye and the other two evolved starters in the place of Charizard and the other two
New theme music also a box...that wouldn’t be an Echo Fighter, then.
Yeah, Flygon is the one Pokemon I can think of with proportions close enough to Charizard that it could potentially be an Echo Fighter for it. Druddigon is a close second.
The only Charizard echo we're getting is Mega Charizard-X.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I could see paying maybe one or two dollars for an echo fighter as DLC, but even then, it'd have to be of a character I really liked. I'd certainly get Waluigi or Ken as DLC, I'd at least consider a Pokemon (any of them) echo fighter DLC, but I'd completely pass on Big Boss or Tom Nook (not that I've seen anyone seriously suggest him being an echo of either Villager or Isabelle, but he's an example of someone I could see being a DLC echo).
As for theoretical Pokemon that have a similar body shape to Charizard (for echo purposes)... hmmm... you'd have to mostly look at Dragon types. Dragonite, Flygon, Hydreigon, those I could see pulling it off. Hilariously, though, the body shape of Vespiquen isn't that far off - not that it would ever happen (and I already know the inevitable "but she doesn't have a tail" comments, so don't bother), but it wouldn't be the most outlandish thing they could do. Of course, if the wings weren't as important, I could think of a few dozen candidates (my favorite of the "if wings aren't an issue" choices would be Feraligatr).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I'd love to see Flygon in Smash, be it as a Charizard echo or otherwise.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"For my guess as to the last two characters, I think one will be Noctis. His game is quite recent and is the latest in the mainline Final Fantasy series, plus the phone version is coming to the Switch. One of the reliable leakers said Squenix would be getting another rep, and Noctis is the logical choice to promote their own games.
As to the other, I'm not going to stop hoping for my boy Rayman.
Paid echo DLC? Well I'd probably buy it because I'm a disgusting consumer shill, but Nintendo would be stupid to try that approach. Echos exist because they're easy to do quickly, and deadlines aren't a huge deal with DLC. DLC echoes would be palatable if included as part of packs that also have a load of other content. Off the top of my head, maybe if Spring Man is released as a DLC fighter, he would come with his own echo in the form of Ribbon Girl.
Ukrainian Red CrossThe only echoes I could see working for Pokemon Trainer is a simplistic one; Mega Charizard X, Wartortle, and Bulbasaur.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.I could see either Flygon or Druddigon as a Charizard echo that effectively functions as Smash 4-Charizard, with Rock Smash as its Down Special and Dragon Rush (the custom version of Flare Blitz that doesn't cause recoil damage) as its Side Special.
Noctis wouldn't be my first choice for an additional Final Fantasy character, but I would accept him solely on the basis that he's representing a Final Fantasy game other than VII.
This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute.Druddigon can't fly, though
A great Mascot Mook.Technically, Charizard can't fly either, to be fair. At least not in his original game, which he seems to be drawn from given how Red/Leaf are the trainers.
Red and Leaf take their designs from FireRed and LeafGreen where Charizard can fly.

This song needs more love. He's also a flying dragon thing by design. He couldn't fly in Red Green and Blue probably due to an oversight.
Druddigon's wings are just sun satellites or something.
Chris: I wasn't going by anybody's desire (I've never played a FF game so I have no horse in that race), just thinking of what was most plausible.
Ukrainian Red CrossI think Echo DLC fighters would be fine, but they should probably be packaged with a full fighter instead of being standalone purchases. That way they feel like bonus content you're getting alongside a main paid fighter, similar to the little extra trophies and music that came with some fighters and stages in Smash 4's DLC. If they're just standalone purchases not as many people will bother to give them a chance.
Selling DLC fighters in packs instead of individually just seems like the best option in general for the developers.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! If you ever decide to play a FF game, play FFVI. You'll thank me later.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSpeaking of FFVI, I’d love to see Terra in as a second FF character. She’d make an excellent foil to Cloud in terms of playstyle, was the protagonist of the last mainline FF game made for Nintendo systems, and her Trance mode could be utilized to new extents as an additional mechanic that mixes her playstyle by changing some of her moves and her attributes (i.e. making her faster and floatier, changing her sword attacks to claw attacks).
She might not even need to use swords and could be a full-on spellcaster like she is in Dissidia Final Fantasy, and we could use another one of those besides Zelda.
My ideal spellcaster character would've been Melia from Xenoblade, but now that Xenoblade X and 2 are out I think that ship already sailed.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Shulk's restraining order against Melia would prevent that.
This song needs more love.
So I'm gonna be pretty disappointed if Ken part of the newcomer reveal. I really really Ken, but if he's really part of the whole only 2 newcomer left thing going right now then that's pretty disappointing. Maybe his reveal trailer will by hype as all hell.
If I'm going to make a wager on who the last 2 newcomers, I'm going with Geno & Shantae. Sakurai or whoever already went on the record to say that the Ballot is major factor on who's get to be included this time around, so I doubt we're going to get any retro or obscure characters this time around. I don't know about crap Incineroar but unless he was around the time when the ballot was a thing then I can't see him make it in. I don't even recall see any Pokemon being on the ballot other than the missing Pokemon reps back Smash 4. I can't think of anything backing up Geno's inclusion other than being incredibly popular choice all the way back to Brawl, but I've been watching a lot of Shantae's video & I'm too convince that she'll be in the game.
Speaking of Ken & DLC, would anyone really be willing to pay DLC echo fighters? I can't imagine anyone would. If anything else that feels like that's a Internet Backdraft waiting to happen.
