Kory: i will need to do some more testing to see if the 500KB should be lowered even more but either way everyone can relax because the database will not crash or implode in anyway due to page size so splitting pages isn't a huge priority and is just more of a suggestion. For pages that actually load slow, splitting the pages will help slower internet users navigate these pages better.
It looks like pages over 500,000 characters (html formatted, that is) are crashing the server when someone tries to edit them. programmer's whine
They need to be fixed, anyway. Way too big for one page. They need to be broken up into subpages of a reasonable size.
I'm trying to get better about communicating before big changes, so we'll let this one run for a while before taking the action. The server crashes do come under the heading of 'urgent', though.

Explanation of what triggers the too-long page warning

Make Video on Demand Riffs its own page I'd say.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I moved the VOD films for Rifftrax to their own page when I noticed that it was getting too long; I apologize if I was not allowed to do that, I just noticed that there was a warning.
Playing with madness since 1968Only objection I would have is that it would be nice if you linked to the new page from the existing one.
Done and I took the Rifftrax feature Films page off the Overly Long Pages page.
Edit: For future reference, can anyone separate pages like I did, or is there a team that handles that?

Playing with madness since 1968Anyone can do it, really. Unless the page is locked, then you should ask here after making the split page.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I split the Cinema Sins page as suggested earlier.
Characters.Pokemon Sword And Shield is giving a too long warning.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. The best I can think of is splitting off the characters from Isle of Armour and Crown Tundra.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I'll try and clean up/trim some examples before it comes to that. For example, does a character need Playing with Fire listed under them because they have one Fire-type Pokemon?
That particular example sounds like misuse. The Pokemon (Breed? I don't really know Pokemon) itself might get a Playing with Fire entry.
Characters.Splatoon is giving the too long warning.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Seems like someone split off some of them.
Odd edit reason they left though.
SoundCloudWell, when I looked only one section had been split off without any sort of unique edit reason, but looking deeper into the history it looks like there was already an ongoing effort to split the whole page before it was even brought up here.
Welp, it finally happened. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the first Zelda page since Breath of the Wild to require a page split.
What about the following subpages?
- TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess.Tropes A To H
- TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess.Tropes I To Q
- TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess.Tropes R To Z
EDIT: The character count is 300333 characters. Previously, the count was 273001 and didnt have the size warning, so I can confirm that the character limit is somewhere between that and the current. Possibly 275000 or 300000, assuming it's an exact number.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Sorry for the double post, but The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword also needs a split. The warning message appears here as well (I just found out after I added one last trope example to it), and has a character count of 305707, slightly higher than the page for Twilight Princess.
My subpage suggestions are:
- TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword.Tropes A To H
- TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword.Tropes I To Q
- TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword.Tropes R To Z
For the record, I checked the other Zelda pages I have in my watchlist and none have the warning appear yet, so for now it's just TP and SS which need to be split.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300& Both of those games are over 10 years old. Can we realistically expect to collect another 400k characters of tropage in the next few years? (That's about when they'd outgrow three pages) If not, I'd stick with just 2 sub-pages: Maybe A-M, N-Z; but should check to see how well balanced the character count would be at that split.

I think we need to see how many of those tropes can't be moved over to the character pages.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Certainly do a clean pass first, but I only identified two tropes in the A's and B's that really should be character tropes. Not a good sign for that project in general. Add in that you might find narrative tropes in the character folders, too.
I did make sure to only add storytelling, gameplay and music/scenery tropes (though I probably added some characterization-based ones without realizing). But even if we moved the exceptions to the character tabs, the main game pages would at best be just under the threshold, so it's probably best to discuss a potential split at the moment.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Gotta make sure there's no natter or anything as well.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf it helps, I did make sure to eradicate collateral issues along the way (the most common were zero-context examples, for which I imported context from their writeups in the wicked trope pages), and I didn't see natter or gushing/complaining.
I'll try to see how many character-cased tropes are in the pages and move them to the character tabs if I see them. However, I cannot guarantee that this will make the character sizes lower too much, because that'd only alleviate it a bit. I'll also do a character count for each of the current alphabetic folders to better gauge how they can be split.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Oh, great. I'm mostly stating it generally since I feel like people forget to clean a page before splitting it at times; I trust your judgement if you made a pass and think it's good.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Pureness
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm a complete dumbass that misunderstood whatever you said.
