YMMV / Wildflower (2017)

• Jerkass Woobie: While Emilia Ardiente-Torillo may be unpleasant and a corrupted politician as her father Julio, she has a miserable life. Julio has been treating Emilia like crap since childhood and her husband Raul has been cheating on her. It's understandable why Emilia is so desperate to become Julio's equal. Until she finds out that Julio never has cared for her even though they seem to bond together and he killed her aunt and her mother Helena/Red Dragon.
• Narm: The show has tons of this but to name a few examples....
  • When Lily/Ivy cries and screams over Carlotta's death and then yells at her hanging corpse, asking who did this to her, Lily's facial expression and over-the-top dramatic acting are what makes it unintentionally funny.
  • When Lily/Ivy hides behind a car from Emilia, Emilia tries to find her while holding a gun and repeatedly saying "Ivy, where are you? Ivy, where are you?" all over again. This line comes off as cheesy and silly.
  • After he covers up his murder of Carlotta, Arnaldo takes a shower while he's clearly stressed over how he indirectly killed Ivy's housekeeper and now has to cover up his crime. For some reason, Arnaldo decided to keep his pants on while he showers. It's rather baffling.
• Narm Charm: The show's over-the-top and melodramatic nature may be eye rolling for others, but for fans it's part of why the show is so entertaining.
  • There's almost a sense that the show is entirely aware of how most Filipino telenovelas are melodramatic and ridiculous and just embraces it.
• Signature Scene: The most talked about moment of the series is probably Arnaldo and Ivy's wedding where Lily/Ivy dons a black wedding dress and manages to expose Arnaldo's actions (such as his Confession Cam where he was held hostage and was forced to admit that he killed Carlotta) in front of everyone.
• The Woobie: Poor Camia. First, she's stalked and nearly raped by Raul. Then she loses her husband to Emilia, who poisoned him. And finally, she's raped then and shot to death by Emilia's minion. Worse of all, it's revealed that she actually survived being shot but did become amnesiac and mute, and then she's rescued by Raul who hides her in a remote house to keep her as his lover, as she fails to remember her past life and her daughter Lily. Thankfully, she gets better later on as she regains her memory and joins Lily's revenge scheme.
