YMMV / Trix Rabbit

Go To

  • Awesome Moment: Anytime the Rabbit is finally able to taste Trix.
  • Designated Hero: The kids. At least when they snatch the cereal from the rabbit at times when he does get it legally, which makes it seem like the kids are actually the ones stealing from the rabbit, not the other way around.
  • Designated Monkey: The rabbit. All he wants is cereal but he seldom gets it just because some kids feel they somehow have the right to decide who gets it and who doesn't. However, the rabbit did get the Trix twice, where the kids were asked to send in box tops with their vote in 1976 and 1991. The results in both were a resounding, "Let him eat!" culminating in a commercial in which he did just that. It just goes to show that while the animated kids are callous jerks, Real Life kids, even the live-action ones in the ads themselves by contrast, will always sympathize with the rabbit. It is probably why many went on to make parodies, showing the rabbit finally having enough and killing or at least brutally maiming the kids.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • The Tour de Trix commercials had the rabbit finally get a bowl of his coveted Trix when it was put to a vote.
    • The commercial where live action kids give the rabbit a friendship bracelet. It helps slightly redeem them.
  • Popular with Furries: The Trix Rabbit is one of the more popular advertising mascot characters amongst furries.
  • Rooting for the Empire: Honestly, who doesn't want the rabbit to have the cereal?
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: If you couldn't already tell by most of the the entries above, the rabbit. Especially in the 1985 commercial with Bugs Bunny, when the kids are more than happy to share their cereal with Bugs Bunny (who is also a rabbit) but not the rabbit himself. This probably suggests that it is only this rabbit who the kids refuse to share their cereal with.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: The kids, who will never let the rabbit have his Trix, even when he buys it legally, on the basis that it is "just for kids".
  • Unpopular Popular Character: The Trix Rabbit. Throughout the commercials, the kids are constantly denying him any opportunity to eat Trix, and generally dislike him outside of that. Perhaps because of this, real-world people very often end up finding the rabbit more engaging than the kids due to his schemes and the fact that he gets the short end of the stick almost every time he appears.
  • The Woobie: As said above, the rabbit himself is this. Even Bugs Bunny seems to feel sorry for him.
