  • Fridge Logic: How exactly did William build his cybernetic implants if he lost both arms?
  • Narm: The announcer is supposed to sound like an intimidating demon or something, but he instead sounds like he's trying to keep his voice down so he won't wake up whoever's in the next room.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Aside from being cringe-inducing, not a single one of these characters have anything redeeming about them given how they're all bastards one way or another which causes players to care next to nothing about them.
  • Values Dissonance:
    • The Insane Equals Violent card is played rather frequently, with Savage using Hollywood Tourette's as an excuse for his violent trash-talking, Asylum's Split Personality causing him to become a deranged killer, and Buddy frequently being referred to as a "tard". While these unsympathetic depictions of the mentally ill were par for the course in 1996, it would definitely not fly well at all with modern audiences.
    • Mojumbo is a very stereotypical portrayal of Hollywood Natives that frequently makes references to cannibalism, while Chi is heavily based off of Chinese stereotypes, complete with speaking almost exclusively in Funny Bruce Lee Noises, with the creators claiming that they had a Chinese musician who didn't notice to blame for it. Such insensitive portrayals of different cultures were already on their way out of the mainstream by 1996, and would be completely lambasted in the modern day.
    • Spice is a 16-year old prostitute who is just as prone to being bloodily killed like everyone else, with nary any comment made about it. With underage violence and sexuality having become far more controversial after the game's release, the blasé treatment of Spice would undoubtedly be sharply criticized today. Even the creators aren't too proud of her being just 16.
At the time, it seemed hot to make her our age. Now, with an adult mind, it feels a little creepy.
