YMMV / The Unseen Hunt

• Spiritual Adaptation: To Bloodborne. One could be forgiven if one might think that the world of The Unseen Hunt was an Alternate Universe of Bloodborne. The Grimm World could be considered the fic's answer to the Nightmare Realm, Eldritch Location and all and the Grimm being the equivalent to the Great Ones.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: A major criticism against the work is that its only connection to the show is the usage of the characters. Numerous characters have different characterizations, the setting is Earth rather than Remnant, the way Grimm function is completely different, and it reads more like a Spiritual Adaptation of Bloodborne than a fanfic about RWBY.
• The Woobie: Jaune. Sweet merciful crap, how is this kid still sane?! Aside from typical highschool bullying, the poor kid unintentionally catches the attention of the Leviathan, an Elder Grimm who commands the sea itself and is nearly made its vessel in no small part thanks to Cinder. Being Awakened was bad enough, but on top of Cinder Fall trying to turn him into a host for her serpentine boyfriend, he also has to deal with Grimm hunting him down also, not to mention the stress of the Hunter lifestyle.
