YMMV / The Simpsons S2 E13 "Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment"

Go To

  • Franchise Original Sin: While Lisa isn't exactly wrong about her scruples in this instance, her pious melodrama and guilt tripping over even the most petty of slights marks the start of her pushy Rightly Self-Righteous Soapbox Sadie attitude that would make her The Scrappy in later seasons.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Lisa is supposed to be the voice of reason in this episode but her melodramatic attitude and guilt tripping over petty slights makes her quite irritating to be around. Even if she is right about how it's illegal to steal cable, the way she calls out Marge eating two grapes is crossing the line especially since she has a self-righteous smile on her face while her mother is humiliated.
