• Complete Monster: Lex Luthor himself becomes The Joker in this alternate retelling of Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne's backstories. Already a powerful, amoral businessman back in Metropolis - though hiding it behind a veil of respectability - his disfigurement in a chemical accident inspires him to instead openly revel in his personal darkness. Violently possessive of Lois Lane, Luthor schemes to make her his own, intending her to be the queen of his own "Jokerania". To remold the city, Luthor sends mercenary armies to utterly devastate Gotham to remake it from the ground up in his own image, killing hundreds - to which the Joker merely quips "why not?" when Batman furiously demands why so many have suffered for his convenience.
• Fanfic Fuel: So what would some of Superman and Batman's other villains look like as composite characters? A Killer Croc who has Parasite's powers? A Manbat mixed with Bizzaro? A Harvey Dent who becomes Metallo?
• It's Short, So It Sucks!: While the comic is overall well regarded one common criticism is that it suffers from poor pacing due to only being a single issue.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The Boys comic books ends up with a Batman figure with Superman's Powers in the form of Black Noir and they both completely cover their faces.
