- Broken Base: Even before its debut, several fans of EXO, Shinee, and NCT involved were not happy about it, citing that it's disrupting the work schedule of the existing groups and adding more workload on the members. There were also those fans who believed that SM Entertainment should have debuted an entirely new group instead of using those from existing bands. However, there are fans who are excited about it because they get a chance to see their favorite members working together (such as Kai and Taemin or Mark and Baekhyun). It helps that it introduced fans to other groups that the members were from.
- Friendly Fandoms: Despite the initial backlash, there are fans of EXO, Shinee, and NCT who really enjoy the collaboration and are happy the members get along very well since they're all friends with each other.
- Memetic Mutation: 'Cause when we jobless and shopping, we jopping!note
- Older Than They Think: Super M is not the first SM group collaboration. SM the Ballad is the first which is initially composed of Jay Kim of TRAXX, Kyunhyun of Super Junior, Jonghyun of Shinee, and Jinho (who eventually left SM Entertainment and became a member of Pentagon).
- Narm Charm: It takes a whole lot of charisma, talent, and guts to pull off a hard-hitting debut based on a word like "Jopping." (The explanation of "jumping and popping" doesn't help in itself, being equally full of Narm.) Luckily, the boys have ample reserves of all three.
