YMMV / Star Trek Voyager S 2 E 6 "Twisted"

Go To

  • Heartwarming Moments: Whatever else can be said about the episode, the scene at the climax where the crew members make their peace and cope with their potential death is kind of sweet. In particular, Chakotay and Tuvok settling their rivalry.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: In addition to the generally unsatisfying feeling of the ending, the "Negative Space Wedgie turns out to actually be a life-form" twist had been done not only in the previous season's "The Cloud", but several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
  • Narm: When a delirious Janeway sits up and yells something to the effect of "IT'S TALKING TO ME" in a distorted voice. It's more goofy than ominous.
  • Padding: No less than five scenes had to be added to the episode in post-production to fill out the running time, which contributed to the dragging pace of the episode.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The interior of Voyager being transformed into Alien Geometries had the potential to form the basis of an interesting episode, but due to the limits of the show's budget and the effects technology of the time, the end result is a Bottle Episode where the characters spend most of the episode wandering around the ship and just pointing out that they're not where they're supposed to be.
