• Harsher in Hindsight: The fraternity that the Lambda girls often mingle with, and of which Wendy's customers were former members, is referred to as Omicron, a Greek letter that's now associated with a COVID-19 variant. The characters even uniformly mispronounce it as "Omnicron", which became a commonly-heard malapropism while that variant was spreading.
• Jerkass Woobie: Even though she's vain and conceited at best, and a snippy Alpha Bitch at worst, before becoming a serial murderer, it's easy to feel sorry for Monica by the movie's end. Her house mother Wendy exploited her troubled background and lured her into outright prostitution, then she foolishly fell in love with her sugar daddy Simon, only to have his rejection of her be so crushing that she was willing to kill to make amends, and she dies, ending up as a tragic victim of exploitation and betrayal.
• Poor Man's Substitute: Brytnee Ratledge (Cassie) has the looks and mannerisms of a younger Anna Kendrick, while Duncan Bahr (Simon) calls to mind Jon Hamm and Cara Calderaio (Bianca) has a bit of an Ariana Grande vibe.
