• Separated-at-Birth Casting: Since it becomes an important plot point that Cassie and her mother Debra look a lot alike, Brytnee Ratledge as Cassie and Elisabetta Fantone as Debra are a very deliberate case, made explicit with some shots of them together wearing the same dress as they get ready for the Masquerade Ball. While not playing relatives, Ratledge and Laura Rosguer (Sheri) also look quite a bit alike, which again is important to the plot, since Sheri is killed by Monica after Monica mistakes her for Cassie.
