• Americans Hate Tingle: Roy is pretty unheard of in the US, other than just as "that guy who used to be in ELO". Not even "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day", a Christmas-season staple in the UK, is known overseas.
• Archive Panic: There's the entire discographies of The Move and Wizzard and most of Electric Light Orchestra's early output, not to mention his solo work and the Wizzo band.
• Awesome Music: Where to start?
• Fandom Rivalry: There's a slight one between fans of Roy Wood and fans of Jeff Lynne-era ELO over who is the better pop genius.
• Signature Song: "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day", naturally.
  • Discounting that, Roy's most famous solo song would probably be "Forever".
  • His most famous non-Christmas song with Wizzard would be "Angel Fingers" or "See My Baby Jive".
• Sweet Dreams Fuel: "Mustard", "Wake Up", "Any Old Time Will Do", "Interlude"
• Tear Jerker: "The Rain Came Down On Everything", "Dear Elaine", "Why Does Such A Pretty Girl Sing Those Sad Songs", "Interlude", "The Song"
  • Even some of his less sad songs can make you tear up due to the gorgeous melodies, such as "Any Old Time Will Do".
• Tough Act to Follow: Well, more like impossible considering the enduring massive popularity for "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day".
• Vindicated by History: After spending many years as the "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day" Man by the general public, Roy's work, in particular Boulders and Mustard are being reappraised as lost classics and Roy himself is being reappraised as being an underrated genius in recent years.
