  • Designated Villain: How dare Nick Fury kill innocent demons!
  • He's Just Hiding: Not everyone bought that Nick Fury is really dead, based on his use and abuse of Life Model Decoys in the past. These fans take "his" immunity to the secret bomb as evidence that it's not really him. Ultimately, this is proven correct.
  • I Knew It!:
    • If you look at comment sections and message boards surrounding the story, you'll see that pretty much everybody figured out the plot twists of issue #4.
    • If you look at those same things regarding Nick Fury's successor, everyone immediately knew it was going to be Bucky, if only so that he'd have a new ongoing to cash in on his popularity from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, never mind that the character is in general heavily suited for the role, even having been mentored by Fury himself.
  • Just Here for Godzilla:
    • Some people only picked the comics once they heard the Orb, extremely obscure but incredibly wacky supervillain, is a prominent character.
    • Another selling point among some fans, the Punisher/Rocket Raccoon team-up.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: Sure, Marvel, we totally buy that you'd turn Bucky Barnes, a Breakout Character who just starred in one of the most financially successful movies of the year, a movie named after him, into a villain.
  • Memetic Mutation: People have been speculating on what Fury whispered to Thor that made him and every Asgardian up to Odin himself unworthy of Mjolnir, from sensible guesses to joking ones like "tfw no qt gf" or "I killed Mufasa." It was ultimately revealed to be that Fury and Uatu agreed with Gorr about gods.
