YMMV / Mega Man (Dreamwave)

Go To

  • Awesome Art: What some consider the art to be, especially the final issue. Heck, Spaz, who drew the final issue, actually returned to draw the first four issues of Archie's comic adaptation, as well as several covers for it.
  • Broken Base: On whether this series is any good. This extends to the final issue. Either you thought the first three issues were good and the final issue was awful, or thought the first three issues were bad and that the final issue is the only good one.
  • Complete Monster:
    • Dr. Wil(e)y is a former partner of Dr. Light, who grew jealous of the latter's fame and decided to get revenge on him. Organizing attacks upon Dr. Light's inventions which helped the city to prosper, Wiley sent Heat Man to destroy Mega City airport, which would cause planes to crash. When Dr. Light discovered his role in recent crime wave and effortlessly defeated his machines, a furious Wiley transformed his base into a giant robot and sent it toward Mega City, hoping to destroy it out of pure spite.
    • Heat Man is the vilest of Dr. Wiley's henchmen, who is obsessed with burning things. Leading an attack on Mega City airport, Heat Man destroyed it and burns down all robotic stuff in it, leading to a plane full of innocent people to start falling on the city, threatening to kill all passengers and cause damage. After Mega Man saved the plane, Heat Man escaped, and later burnt down Dr. Light's and Mega Man's home.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: While she has her detractors, some fans actually liked Chelsea, and would have liked to see her at least get a cameo appearance in later works.
  • Fan Nickname: The Steel Devil for the unidentified giant robot that appears in the final issue, due to its resemblance to the Yellow Devil from the games.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The plot for the comic, with a few changes, was later reused for Mega Man: Fully Charged.
  • So Okay, It's Average: What some non-haters see the series as; it has its moments, but to them, it's nothing really special.
