YMMV / Maniac (2018)

• Adaptation Displacement: The original Norwegian series is pretty hard to even find anywhere to watch, while its recognition is mostly locked to Nordic countries.
• Complete Monster: Jed Milgrim proves himself to be more than just a simple Spoiled Brat. Using the influence of his family to sexually assault a woman and try to get away with it, Jed makes threats to his own brother Owen to force him into providing a false alibi, tormenting him to such an extent that Owen attempts suicide. When Owen decides to testify against him, Jed sends anthrax to the governor and frames Owen for it, content with the thought of leaving his own brother to rot in a mental facility.
• Narm/Narm Charm: Owen, in "The Lake of the Clouds", transforming into a hawk and screaming, "Annie, I'm a hawk!" a few times. The production team must have liked it a lot, because they added Owen's line over the Paramount Television logo.
• Squick: Owen's brother Jed is on trial because he forced a female co-worker to urinate on him for his own sexual pleasure.
• The Woobie: Owen Milgrim; he's the black sheep of his family, he's barely able to hold down an apartment on his meager salary, he's lonely and friendless at the best of times, and he's had a history of mental illness that's only made his life even harder. Plus, he's being forced to testify at his bullying big brother's trial.
