The films contain examples of:
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Through a Freeze-Frame Bonus during the opening, Zenigata's ID was issued by 4chan.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The super-computer that can (supposedly) predict Lupin's every move has exactly zero bearing on the plot.
- Win Back the Crowd: In Japan, at least, this film managed to do that after the failure of Lupin III: Part III and the fallout fron The Fuma Conspiracy's mass-replacement of the voice cast. Getting back the people that were replaced played no small part in it, and since then, they'd only replace voice actors if it became an absolute necessity, such as if they retired or passed away.
- Woolseyism: Many of Goemon's lines in the dub are written as an Ice-Cream Koan. In the original, he was rather straight-forward. One example being his catchphrase.Goemon (JP): Must I fell another trifling foe?
Goemon (Manga UK dub): The tiger without claws may yet have teeth.
