- Crosses the Line Twice: Well, more like sets the line on fire, then dances on its grave.
- Harsher in Hindsight: In one segment, Penne gives advice for schoolkids to leave a diary full of murderous thoughts lying around to scare any bullies. With the number of school-based spree-killings that have occurred in the ensuing years, the satirical element has lost its sheen.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- Sigourney's advice for women and gay men who are sick of metrosexual men was echoed in an episode of South Park.
- Michael Scott must have been a fan, because Todd's tip about using the smell of freshly grilled bacon as an alarm clock becomes a major plot point in one episode.
- LGBT Fanbase: In-universe, Dr Rudi apparently is very popular among gay viewers.
- Moral Event Horizon:
- Dr Rudi or rather, his impersonator crossed this by stealing his identity. Of course, this is mostly in-universe due to the sociopathic nature of the series.
- A more straight example would be when he started a bushfire and assured the audience that it's okay because bushfires destroy detritus. To Dr Rudi, said detritus included a house and native wildlife.
- Sigourney once had sex with a catatonic man. She even points out how the sex was purely for her own pleasure.
- Penne's advice for dealing with noisy dogs is to release cane toads into their backyards. She even points out how cane toads are lethal to dogs.
- Todd once let a pit bull disguised as a poodle attack a child. He then switched it with an actual poodle when told that he would have to have his dog put to sleep.
- Dr Rudi or rather, his impersonator crossed this by stealing his identity. Of course, this is mostly in-universe due to the sociopathic nature of the series.
- Values Dissonance: Some of the vox pops can sound a bit cringeworthy when it comes to issues like homosexuality or disability benefits.
