YMMV / It's a Wonderful Knife (2023)

• Complete Monster: Henry Waters, starting as a Serial Killer with several victims, reigns over Angel Falls as a despot in the timeline where he isn't stopped early. Killing frequently with a body count in the dozens, Waters broke heroine Winnie Carruthers's father by murdering his son in front of him and turned him into a murderous drone like he'd done with others. When he learns his brother the sheriff is planning a transfer away, Waters gleefully murders him before the town to adorn his own celebratory Christmas tree.
• Spiritual Successor: To a slew of movies that take the X Meets Y approach between a classic movie premise and the slasher genre which started in 2017 with Happy Death Day (Groundhog Day) and continued with Freaky (Freaky Friday) and Totally Killer (Back to the Future), the latter of which was also written by Knife's Michael Kennedy.
• The Woobie: Bernie. She's constantly mocked by the other kids, except Winnie, and has no friends starting out. Then we learn she'd also been abandoned by her dad and has a negligent mom too, just to top it off. It turns out she'd even planned to kill herself on Christmas. The poor girl. However, at least Winnie and she bond, even now seemingly being girlfriends by the end, so things are at last looking up for Bernie.
