YMMV / How to Be a Serial Killer

Go To

  • Ho Yay: Mike and Bart are pretty affectionate with each other.
    • Pretty affectionate? They watch the sunset together, they go on lunch dates, they're always around each other.
    • Then there's the scene where Bart gets nervous about something that Mike says (he was just kidding, of course) and Mike says "I'd never do anything to hurt you," while holding his face. He then strokes his hair and smiles.
    • And the scene where Mike's laying on the couch and Bart puts a blanket over him.
    • How about the scene in which Bart cries out, 'Don't leave me, Mike!' as Mike runs off to kill someone.
    • Or the fact that Mike pretty much died for him, seeing as he could have tried to make a deal, to turn Bart in and not have to face the death penalty, but he didn't.
    • And then there's the very end, where Bart gives a fourth wall breaking heartfelt speech about what a good guy Mike was, and what a difference he made to the world, explicitly stating, 'Mike Wilson saved my life.'
  • Love to Hate: Mike, he's just so damn charming.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Mike Wilson is a hilariously charming Serial Killer who believes in using his status as a murderer to improve the world and impart his way of life to others. Mike has gotten away with dozens of killings for years, targeting people who are rude or harmful to society before killing them in creative ways. Having a code of honor that prohibits targeting children or committing sexual crimes, Mike also avoids harming the homeless, believing them to be victims of a failing society who deserve kindness and charity. Taking doormat and aspiring murderer Bart under his wing, Mike instructs him on the fun of being a mass murderer while continuing to get away with many slayings. Though eventually exposed to the law after he murders his girlfriend, Mike fights off and kills several cops all on his lonesome, and even when he is finally caught and sentenced to die, Mike pretends Bart was his hostage so that Bart can continue Mike's work in murder for a long time to come.
