- Ensemble Dark Horse: The Hellcop turned out to be one when filming began, as originally he had a small role. His magnetic presence gave him an upgrade to The Heavy and being inserted in scenes where he wasn't before.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- The "Good Intentions Paving Company" scene initially starts funny as as a very literal take on a familiar phrase, but turns nightmarish as the people are processed into body parts used to pave the road.
- The demon that tries to seduce Charlie has a terrifying real form with sunken eyes and a shriveled body.
- Much like the Terminator, the Hellcop is an Implacable Man who will not stop until his objective is complete, whether kidnapping Rachel or killing Charlie.
- One-Scene Wonder: Gilbert Gottfried as Hitler only gets one scene, but it was so memorable that urban legends state the crew on Disney's Aladdin wanted to hire him based on the role.
