YMMV / Densetsu no Stafy 3

  • Anti-Climax Boss: Despite being the first playthrough's final boss who was specifically powered up by Evil and effectively having three times the health of a normal boss, Ogura isn't much to write home about in this game. Most of his attacks aren't that difficult to dodge and are decently telegraphed, meaning if you've learned anything from the prior boss fights, you shouldn't take much damage. He also spends the whole fight onscreen with his only periods of invulnerability being when he uses his Vacuum Mouth and beam attacks, making it fairly simple to just wail on him uninterrupted for most of the fight.
  • Best Level Ever: Stage 8, Undersea Ruins, is beloved for its crossover with Wario of all characters, in which each level has you guide Wario to the end using one of his transformations. The pretty visuals and music are the icing on the cake.
  • Even Better Sequel: Starfy 3 is generally regarded by the fandom as not just a step up over the first two games but as the best game in the whole series for its creative level design, the ability to play as Starly, the more dramatic story that ends the trilogy on a climactic note, and the aforementioned crossover with Wario.
  • Narm: Ogura's tragic Heroic Sacrifice is offset by Starly's face. Really now…
  • Signature Scene:
    • Wario's appearance as a whole is one of the best remembered parts of the game.
    • Ogura's Heroic Sacrifice also counts, although to a lesser extent.
  • That One Attack:
    • Evil's Wave Motion Puke is absurdly hard to deflect, as you have to repeatedly hit the crosshairs precisely over and over again just to slow it down. Should you fail one of them, all you can do is to wait for the inevitable One-Hit Kill to claim your life.
    • Ogura's own Wave-Motion Gun attack moves faster than you, can turn its direction around with no telegraph and lasts for a very long time.
