YMMV / Death Crimson

Go To

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The title sounds like a pretty apt descriptor of Omega (or rather, Omega Zero) from Mega Man Zero 3, and the game's much more serviceable arcade port being named Death Crimson OX dovetails nicely with Omega's "playable" appearance in Mega Man ZX as its Infinity +1 Sword, Biometal Model OX. Additionally, the plot point of the Crimson being discovered in ancient ruins is similar to how Zero is found in an abandoned laboratory by Ciel at the beginning of Mega Man Zero.
  • So Bad, It's Good: Notoriously so, to the point where it is considered a legendary kusoge ("crap game") in Japan. Reasons include the amazingly atrocious graphics and unintentionally funny music.
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: While still pretty low quality compared to the contemporaries and probably there's Stylistic Suck in effect for some weird designs in the game, Death Crimson OX is pretty up to par in terms of gameplay and fun factor for light gun games at the time.
