YMMV / Concealed the Conclusion

  • Awesome Music: It certainly is something when the game's soundtrack gets listed on the main page's Awesome Music list.
  • Eclipsed by the Remix: "G Free ~ Final Dream" is first and foremost a remix of "G Free" note  from the Magical Astronomy album, but the climatic battle theme version of the song is likely to overshadow the original among fans. Searching up G Free on Youtube will lead to the Final Dream remix as the top pick, with it dwarfing the video of the original song by about six hundred thousand views.
  • Fan Nickname: "Gainax does Touhou."
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The game centers around what could happen if Reimu dies, based on the canon established after Shoot the Bullet but firmly before the Soft Reboot Mountain of Faith. Ironically, the same game that would essentially make any of the game's theories Jossed in canon is the same game that gave the fandom Zombie Reimu.
    • Later games, particularly Antimony of Common Flowers and Violet Detector, focus heavily on the nature of dreaming in the Touhou universe. Needless to say, it doesn't turn out anything like this game.
  • Sequel Fangame Difficulty Spike: The Hakurei system makes actually clearing the game extremely difficult, as the amount of Hakurei you've collected will determine how much time you have to fight Reimu in the final stage. Timing out results in a bad ending. Furthermore, the Hakurei system is extremely strict — dying or bombing will set you back by a lot, in addition to resetting your Hakurei meter, causing you to get less Hakurei per graze/hit.
  • Tear Jerker: The latter half of the game once Marisa discovers the impending Dream Apocalypse. The tracks for the final stage and its boss battle drive it home.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: Features an all-star cast of bosses from the first set of Windows games, and a smattering of PC-98 characters here and there. Makes the absence of characters from Mountain Of Faith onwards very, very noticeable.
