  • Hilarious in Hindsight: "The Bravery of Being Out of Range" depicts Ronald Reagan as a man who "still like[s] a laugh in the locker room" nearly 25 years before another celebrity turned politician note  got into trouble for self-described "locker room talk."
  • Tear Jerker: The audio sample in "Three Wishes" of the woman attempting to kill herself and her children by gassing. The murder-suicide attempt fails because she couldn't afford a big enough gas bottle. Her children die, but she survives.
Woman: If God did take me, then I would have been in hell because I wasn't right.
  • Vindicated by History: The album was pretty low-selling compared to the Gilmour-era Pink Floyd releases, A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell, and the controversy of "What God Wants, Part I" and its accompanying music video led to MTV and radio passing on promoting the album (Waters also refused to tour behind it). However, it has since gained in status, nowadays being seen as a worthy Spiritual Successor to Waters' work with Pink Floyd, to the point where it received a high-resolution remaster in 2015.
