YMMV / A Kitty Bobo Show

Go To

  • Awesome Art: The simplistic flat art style, complete with collage-like and expressively painted backgrounds, is attractive.
  • Cult Classic: The short was fairly well-received when it aired, but it was heavily overshadowed by the pilot for Codename: Kids Next Door. Nowadays, the short has a sizable following who praises it for it's unique art style, and for having a plot that was somewhat relevant when the short came out in 2001, but became even more relevant during the mid-late 2010's.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Kitty Bobo's friend Maggie is surprisingly popular, and has quite a bit of fan art. This is probably due to her cute design and the fact that she's the only female in Kitty Bobo's group of friends, making her standout more.
  • Popular with Furries: The short has caught the eye of a few furries, meaning it has a very small niche popularity.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Kitty Bobo is played by Dante Basco.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The fact that Kitty Bobo shows off his phone as "the latest model" becomes funnier as the decades go by, with modern viewers noting how cellphones had gone a long way since then. Then there's Kitty Bobo's decidedly, though satirically portrayed, "hip" lingo.
  • Values Resonance: While Status Cellphones are not as big a deal as they were in 2001, people being inconsiderate with their phones and being overly attached to them is an even bigger issue than it was when the pilot came out.
