Real Life was a one-shot special of the Life SMP.
The special follows much of the same rules as 3rd Life: each member of the server begins with three lives, losing one every time they die, and their goal shifts from surviving peacefully to taking out as many other players as possible when they're on their last life. The gimmick for this special? Everyone is playing on Minecraft VR.

The Real Life SMP provides examples of:
- April Fools' Day: The special was released on April 1st, 2024.
- Augmented Reality: The gimmick of the one-shot special is that the creators are playing on Minecraft VR, resulting in visual oddities like players' hot bars being on their left arms and moving alongside them, making it difficult to keep track of one's health and the in-game chat.
- Content Warnings: A handful of POVs preface their videos with a warning that the VR set-up may cause motion sickness for both the creators and the viewers.
- Continuity Nod: Several to past seasons of the Life series.
- Big B, as he infamously did in Secret Life, tries to confuse others using a hole.
- Martyn is once again the murderer of Pearl's dog, whose name even rhymes with Tilly!
- Pearl is once again the centerpiece of another impromptu slumber party of sorts. Martyn even muses that he has finally been invited to the party that he missed back in Secret Life.
- Deadly Euphemism: Jimmy and Grian invite everyone to join their Club if they want to. Jimmy and Grian are the only Reds on the server at the time. Scar doesn't put two and two together.
- Denser and Wackier: Given the one-shot is played on VR, everyone's movements become much more expressive but also much goofier than the average season of the Life series.
- History Repeats: Scott, Cleo, and Pearl end up working together, and quickly realise they've accidentally recreated their "Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss" alliance from the Last Life.
- Lighter and Softer: As the special is intended to be a one-shot, it's not taken very seriously by any of the creators, and while betrayals and murders occur like any other season of the Life series, they generally aren't treated with much narrative weight.
- Visual Pun: Instead of a regular stylized heart, the symbol for Real Life is a real-life heart, as in the organ.
